    I don't know. I'm fairly convinced that the non-use of 7075 t6 aluminum in scope bodies is almost purely a cost-saving measure. It's way more expensive than 6061-t6. Everyone knows this. The surprising part to me is that I continue to see high end scope makers continue to use the lesser grade...
