Thanks everyone for the compliments. I am very happy with this rifle.
I had a very productive day at the range yesterday. I managed to get some FGMM 175gr., so I went out to get the scope adjusted for this ammo at the 100 yard range. Here's a couple results:

It's not really the money that has kept me from starting to reload. It's just not something that I feel I am ready to jump into at this time. One of the main reasons I chose .308 is because there are good factory loads available for it. I'm sure as I progess I will indeed begin reloading, though.
I thought it would be similar as well. 20" barrel. There's info about my rifle and a couple pics of groups here: http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-bolt-action-rifles/243665-put-together-my-first-precision-rifle-remington-700-5r.html
Yes, slightly. It came out to about $1.30/round vs. $1.50/round for the FGMM. It doesn't group as well as the Federal, though. It is Lake City, but was bulk ammo, so I'm thinking it was probably factory seconds and not true M118LR.
Yeah. The only reason I got the 168 is because it was all I could find at the time. I have since picked up a couple hundred rounds of 175 and I also have 500 rounds of M118LR, but my rifle doesn't seem to like that stuff. Haven't shot the FGMM 175 yet, but I'm expecting they will perform as well...

I'm in Rancho Cordova and shoot at Sac Valley. It's a great range. I'd love to start attending the NCPPRC practices, but I work weekends, so it's tough. I am taking the Long Range Clinic they are putting on in a couple weeks, though.
Oh, and I'm also not a...
From the time that I first saw one, I've wanted a GAP Crusader, but I've never been able to justify the cost over how much I would shoot it, being as though I've never really done much long range shooting and my access to long ranges was limited. Well, now I live close to a range that has a...
Well, I'm not exactly new to the Hide. I've been lurking for several years, but I've just recently begun getting serious about long range shooting and figured I should probably drop an introduction before going much further.
I've been shooting casually all my life. Did some rimfire postal...
My response when I read this news... Best. Day. EVER!
Also, this is not the first time that Yee has been accused of corruption. He has a history of such. Hopefully he won't weasel out of it this time. I'd love to see him do time, but at the very least, it looks like his political career is...
I should preface by saying that I haven't put a lot of rounds down range with my 700 5R yet. I should also probably say that I haven't shot past 200 yards with it yet either, so take this for what it's worth. So far I haven't been able to get the M118LR that I have to group well at all at 100...
