Re: they made better bullets for magnum why not LR I saw a discussion about this recently enough (probably here on the hide). I think the general idea was that 22lr is just really a cheap, fun to shoot round. If you start putting ballistic tips on them then they become expensive to shoot...
Howdy all. Id love to try out some Ackely Improved ammo. Im thinking maybe 223 or 243. But do any companies even build Ackley Improved rifles? Or will I have to go down the custom route? And where could I even source Ackely ammo? And can I ask, if Ackely Improved are as good as people say...
Hi all... Im shooting 223 out to about 500 yards and at the moment my only considerations before a shot are bullet drop and windage. Like most people I suspect, Im always trying to tighten my groups and push my range out further. Do you think it would be overkill to start keeping records of...
I was at the range today with my 223 1 in 8 shooting some 55grains and I got talking to a chap who told me that the 55grains are too light for my 1 in 8 and that instead of spinning they would just rip over the twist and possibly cause damage. Is that true..? Ive put about 2000 rounds of...
Ive being looking all over the web for the past hour and I cant seem to find this anywhere. Basically, Im looking for a collection of rifle bullets that I can have for side by side comparison. Pretty much a bullet of all the different calibers. BY the way, crappy legal laws in this country...

Just like the title says, all these people getting AI stocks for their 700's, is there any real point to it other than the eye candy aspect? Would I get tighter groups with an AI stock on my 700 then using a different aftermarket stock.
Re: How to be a better spotter Well I guess that makes sense. THe guy I was with yesterday has been shooting for about 20 years and Im pretty new to this whole thing. But I still cant understand how he (or anyone) can look through a spotting scope and then by watching where the bullet...
To keep a long story short. I was shooting yesterday with a buddy who was spotting for me. Any time I was off he was able to tell me "come up 2 clicks" then when I was spotting for him all I could say was "you hit low and left", or even worse, a lot of times I didnt see where the shots went at...
Hi all Im buying a 22lr pistol (has to be 22 for legal reasons) Im set on either a Buckmark or a beretta 87 target. Anybody fire both of them? Whats your opinion on them? Which would you go for? Will be mainly just plinking. Nothing too serious.
