    B-14 Heavy Barreled Action

Being someone 5 years ago that use to build rimfires for others from Cz’s to anschutz and everything else, I don’t have to pay anyone to do it. I’ve retired from building for others. I have lilja 3 groove barrels left over from back when I was building but was considering trying something else...

    B-14 Heavy Barreled Action

Personally, I’d rather just get the regular barreled action and just do a match barrel in whatever contour I wanted. That’s exactly what I did and last night I ordered a mdt field stock cause I thought it would be nice to build another one in that stock 🫣.

    Rim X extractor?

Time to measure the headspace!! Shimming the striker spring is never needed on a rimfire. Many of the factory springs are way stronger then needed, especially actions that they make for magnum calibers such as the hmr and wmr. They tend to use a spring powerful enough for the magnums in the 22...

    B-14 Heavy Barreled Action

I have a few of them but all are built with the only thing left being factory is the action. All of mine have lilja 3 grooves custom fitted with a chamber i designed years ago. Feeding and extraction issues happen even with the higher dollar customs, you just need to know your way around a...

    Rim X extractor?

Light strikes can happen for a few reasons. Most common ones are bolts that are very dirty (slow down the striker, easy fix with a break down and cleaning), worn out spring (usually takes many many years of use), headspace out of spec (Seen this way too many times 😬). I’ve built tons of...

    L3i New "Stinger" Barreled action

The cone breach as I’m sure you know can be dinged when dry fired. This design I wouldn’t even consider unless it’s a benchrest rifle with a shooter that is careful. The top design imo is ideal or a V style breach can be done like below. I’ve done many V breaches and it has always been my favorite.

CZ 457 build, pre and post bedding results

I’ve bedded thousands of rimfire a from cz’s to anschutz and everything else in between. Also have done my fair share of centerfire as well. Free float, full length, partial etc, can be a hit or a miss depending on the gun and setup. Most guns I did full length where factory barrels and how much...

What to expect from a kidd supergrade

As far as 10/22’s go, the best ones I ever seen where built by joe chacon. They sure ain’t cheap but you get what you pay for and he guarantees accuracy last time I checked!

What to expect from a kidd supergrade

They guarantee 1/2” or better at 50 yards. If semi auto is what your after Kidd does make a nice rifle as well as others.

CZ455 tacticool.. help me spend money

Get the thing to the range and see how it does. Most sporting rimfires will do 1/2”-1” at 50 yards consistently with the higher end offerings doing 1/2” or better. See what your working with and then go from there. If it’s just a rifle for temporary use, I’d just let her shoot it the way it is...

CZ455 tacticool.. help me spend money

Getting the rifle to 1/4” at 50 yards will take work. Chances are the factory barrel ain’t gonna do it, at least with consistency which is what matters. It will take bedding, a custom fitted barrel, bolt/ignition work, and action work done correctly to get it to that level. This goes for any...

CZ455 tacticool.. help me spend money

What to do all depends on what you want in the end. How far you want to shoot, what kind of accuracy your looking to achieve, what style shooting you will do etc. No matter what it is your looking to achieve, just make sure the path you take is guaranteed to get you there. If it isn’t, then...

WTF! This is apparently why I don't clean rifles...

Inconsistent velocity is not always the ammos fault. It’s much easier to say it is but sometimes it is inconsistent ignition which majority of rifles have. Without getting crazy with work you can try fully disassembling the bolt and cleaning all part. If that doesn’t work then there are other...

    Who all makes 455 barrels...

You definitely want to measure precisely for your headspace and make sure your using the proper shims to obtain it. What you want to make sure of is the fit between shank OD and action as that will decide what retaining compound to use. These compounds are designed to work with a certain amount...

    Who all makes 455 barrels...

I like to glue the barrels in so boy deformation can occur from the grub screws on the chamber. Retaining compound is what you want to use but which one depends on the tolerance of the fit. When custom fitting, my goal on shank OD was .0005” or better. Basically the shank is machined to the...
