    5.45x39 any thoughts

Re: 5.45x39 any thoughts I just ordered my first AK74 (interarms polish tantal from atlantic), and I can't wait to take it out to the range. While ballistic gel testing does not guarantee real like wound replication, it is interesting to consider as 5.45 appears to do more damage then...

    308 175 smk Varget troubles

Re: 308 175 smk Varget troubles Thanks for the info guys, very helpful, I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding my brass. I have been noticing an ever so slight ring around the head of the case just in front of the web portion. I hesitate to even call it a ring, and it is not...

    308 175 smk Varget troubles

Re: 308 175 smk Varget troubles I ended up doing some special loads and using the OCW load development system. I got good vertical consistency at 44.8 and 45.1 grains. This seems a bit hot with the lyman max load at 45.2+ but I think the larger Winchester brass capacity may make up for it.

Re: chargemaster combo I bought mine from natchezz for 289.99, but I do alot of business with midway. Midway has faster shipping and a better order management system IMO

    308 175 smk Varget troubles

Re: 308 175 smk Varget troubles I have read about the ladder tests, and I plan to switch primers to federal/br2. Should I stick with varget, or try another load? Seems like people have mixed opinions. Also is a chronograph neccessary? I am shooting with the stock 700 sps tactical hogue...

    308 175 smk Varget troubles

Re: 308 175 smk Varget troubles Thanks for the replies! I would like to use lapua brass but its a bit spendy. What is the ladder test, and why are the benefits of other primers? (i see you guys are using CCI and federal) primers better then the remington ones?

    700 sps tactical holdovers

Re: 700 sps tactical holdovers I will be using factory loads, but I would love to learn to start reloading. Does anybody have any good ideas for factory loads to start out with. I understand that heavier rounds 170+ grains tend to stay true farther out, but 150 grain should be ok for less...

    700 sps tactical holdovers

howdy guys! I am a noob to the long range game, and I just picked up my first rifle. It is a Remington 700 sps tactical 20" in 308, and I can't wait to take it to the range to try out. I do not have access to a chronograph, but I was talking with someone else on a different board that...
