Re: Zeiss 6.5-20x50 MOA Help 20 MOA base and low (0.76") rings will work. I use Seekins Precision low rings on all my Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50 scopes. You will be very close to bottoming out the scope with a 100 yard zero.

Re: What did I do wrong here? It's going to have a lot of clearance either way. A 40mm or 44mm objective will always have extra clearance even with low rings.

Re: What did I do wrong here? Yes, the sporter barrel has more taper than the varmint barrel. In order for your calculation to be more accurate, you need ring height from base to center of ring and not base to bottom of ring. 0.5" is the measurement from base to bottom of ring.
