BTW, the old, well used 22-250 T3 I bought arrived yesterday. When taking apart water dribbled out of the stock.... that is how some rifles are treated. Luckily there is hardly any rust except action screws. edi
I'd like to think that. Truth is my son made me some fantastic stocks for my hunting rifles. He does not hunt very often and I hope he will join in more often in the next season. edi
Last weekend we finished my son's rifle. T3 with 20MOA steel rail which I might change for a lighter Spuhr one. PSE Evolution monocoque carbon fibre stock with wide barrel channel and CTR mag inlet. Precision moulded bedding area with carbon pillar blocks. Proof prefit Sendero Carbon barrel 22"...
Only major thing I can think of is the ejection window which is larger in height on the t3X. Have something like 2.5mm in my head that the bottom edge is lower... I never measured it. Supposed to help ejection on Spuhr direct scope mounts. Spuhr used to mill out T3 actions that would use his...
The absolute last thing I'd do is to try and rip apart a perfectly good rifle, throw half of it's parts away to start building a new one at possibly similar expense as buying a second rifle. Just shop around and get a t3 223 preferably with 1/8 twist. Even if 20" and light barrel. I am shooting...
So two options with the UPR T1X, either stock has a different inlet which means new stock moulds or floorplate is made with the CTR footprint which means new floorplate mould (or 3d print). I often throw the T1X into my CTR stocks and had these made by a friend in alu. This E-Tac stock normally...
T1X floorplate normally has the same footprint as the T3 Lite/Hunter/Varmint etc. The UPR stock uses the CTR magsystem /footprint or? These will not match up. I guess rear action screw will go in front one won't? I only worked on a UPR stock once, never had one of my own. Peter from PSE about...
Throat in two of my 1/8 T3's seemed perfect for 75 A-Max/75 ELDM. shoulder junction on boat tail junction. Just need to run out of aics mags as they won't fit in the 223 T3 Lite mags. Shoot very well. edi
I tried the Tikka Triggertech at their booth last week. As all Triggertech very good. Tikka triggers are generally good however there are a few flops amongst them that need reworking. In all the years we had three T3 triggers that were not nice. One was reworked and turned out perfect. I think...
MDT have a bottom metal that fits into the CTR footprint and apparently takes medium mags say for 6.5PRC but then you still have the bolt head issue. 284 Win could be an option with the MDT and fit in the 6.5CM bolt. I never managed to find a magazine that would fit into the MDT medium bottom...
Recon you could go 338 fed, 308, 70-8. At a push even 6.5PRC and load accordingly. I don't think the PRC will give you much more knock down over a 308 loaded say with 178 ELDX up to 200yd. My choice would be the 308 with 9 or 10 twist and experiment with heavier bullets up to 208gr. Chamber cut...
