Geissele Mid Range Gas Gun for the low price of $6,500

AI-AT is a good comparison. Where you have gnat's ass accuracy, quick change barrel, just a bulletproof system. Or a Geissele gasser... I'm just assuming they are trying the KAC approach at this point- fulfill gov contracts, sell the scraps at contract prices to the cloners.

Geissele Mid Range Gas Gun for the low price of $6,500

Think the question will be if they can outshoot an SR25 at ~2 pounds less weight. They seem to be testing the market with the gov contract prices, much like Barrett did with the MRADs (which went okay for Barrett since they intentionally kept supply low). Except you don't get the parts and...

    Your PVA prefit experience

I don't have an Osprey. I've been really happy with the Rock Creek prefits that I've purchased over the years. If I timed the sale, I was in for around $500, which seemed fair for a prefit, especially given all the options that they have programed in over at PVA. I don't need an Osprey. I'm...

    Your PVA prefit experience

Only Osprey barrels anymore? I'm looking for a Rock Creek, etc, .223 1:8. Not seeing anything like that anymore. I LOVE my current .223 PVA, but I think it will be shot out relatively soon.

    Trigger tech tikka trigger info?

I'm just assuming single stage is what made more sense mechanically. They have to know that most of their customer base would prefer two stage.

Springfield Waypoint—an owner's story of disappointment and abject failure

You're being obtuse. Catastrophic means that the process of the part failing caused other parts to be damaged or fail, or the shooter to become injured. This wasn't catastrophic, it was a pretty basic mechanical failure, isolated solely to the failing part, and why a lot of guys take second...

Ideal .223 Bolt Action Plinker (?)

I think 1:9 is great. Should work well for 50 to 75 grains. 1:8 or 1:7 let you go super heavy (80+), but honestly, it starts to get a little ridiculous in .223 with the amount of powder you have available. 1:7 was only the 5.56 standard because of the super long tracer rounds.

Ideal .223 Bolt Action Plinker (?)

I don't know how the Gen 2 RAR was, but I bought the Gen1, for the exact scenario you describe. It would be an awesome truck or ATV gun, but it sucked as a serious plinker. Stock is terrible (cheap, thin, flimsy), action drags, trigger is heavy. In basically every case I would rather have had a...

XM-3 on CMP, what’s the story behind these?

Congratulations! Being able to own an XM-3 is the dream. Actual issued rifle, purpose built, that was doing God's work.

XM-3 on CMP, what’s the story behind these?

I mean, the sky is the limit on the price for an actual war issued sniper rifle, vs a clone. Clone you'd be lucky to get 1/2 your money back in a few years. This one could buy you a truck one day. I think the CMP trickling these out is keeping a lid on pricing (because all of us poor MFers can...
