Getting the itch for a TacOps. Questions for those that have shot these

Just traded my X-Ray 51 for my 3rd Tango 51 + $$. Have owed/shot most of the variants Echo, Lima, Delta 55. You get what you pay for and can't go wrong with any of them. The tango for me is more versatile and not as heavy. Accuracy is no issue and you need your trigger time.

    Tac Ops Xray 51

They are nice. Have one just like it, but think I will go back to Tango soon.

Reloading for Tac Ops Tango 51

I am running 44.8 of Varget behind 175 SMK in Lapua brass, 210M primers and .030" off the lands. About 2700FPS in a 20 inch X-Ray 51. My Tango was about the same. Federal factory GMM 168 SMK run about 2650fps. All shoot very good. My elevation is less than 100' above sea level and it is hot in...

Whats the big deal with TacOps rifle?

Mike is correct in that 303 is easy to work and 304, no. I have machined a lot of both in an earlier life.

Whats the big deal with TacOps rifle?

I have had and shot quite a few of the TacOps rifles over the years and can say without question, if the shooter does his part the rifle will amaze you. Not cheap, but you pay for what you get. My personal preference is the Tango 51, go anywhere do anything rifle within its range. Does require...

    .308 20" Federal GMM 168gr Velocity

Over the years I have clocked FGGM 168 out out of several TacOps Tango and Echo 51 at 2650FPS with 20" tubes.

    Stainless Steel Media Testimonials

These work great as I replaced my old vibratory cleaner with the tumbler and SS Media.I do final rinse with RO water shake off excess water place them on paper towels in a pan and put in a 220F oven. Bag them after in zip-locks. I do deprime first to insure pockets get cleaned also.

Rifle Scopes Anyone using the NF 2.5-10x32 NXS compact?

Have one on my Varmint AR. Zero stop. Love it. Also slipped it on my Tango 51 in place of the NF 5.5-25x50 and does great for the shorter ranges. Believe I like it better than the larger ones.

    Gunsmithing Firing pin bushing

Gre'-Tan. He did my Tango 51 last year with a small firing pin hole and Tubb Speedlock firing pin. Box stock It was dough nutting the primer which I did not like. First class work and fast turnaround.

    Tac Ops Alpha-51

Re: Tac Ops Alpha-51 I have and prefer the Tango 51, but have used the Lima 51 and Echo 51. Also the Delta 55. I prefer the Tango due to the stock design and is a little lighter for any position. The others are a little easier for me to shoot due to the extra weight and seem to be more for a...

Rifle Scopes Image barreling on NXS

Re: Image barreling on NXS I checked my 5-25x50 NXS and it has the same issue at low power setting with image barreling. Very noticeable slightly off center. My 2.5-10x32 NXS ZS exhibits much less barreling. Does not affect your hitting target, but is annoying in a premium scope. S&B PMII has...

Rifle Scopes Image barreling on NXS

I noticed on a new 8-32x56 NSX Zero stop scope the extreme edge of the field of view has some barreling. Vertical lines tend to bow outward a little. Not bad and certainly does not appear in the center. Not really a problem, but visible. In looking thru the S&B PMII 5-25x56 this was very...

    Photos New TacOps Delta 55

Re: New TacOps Delta 55 This rifle is a lot easier to shoot well than my Tango 51. It is heavier and not as flexible, but is a dream to shoot. It is the easiest I have tried from Tangos, Echos, and Limas off the bench. 6.5 Swede is a good cartridge and you can get good factory ammo, but more...

    223CFE powder for .308 Win.

Re: 223CFE powder for .308 Win. Thanks. Temps in 100's down here, but I normally load at the range for testing. In looking at the load data i will probably start on the bottom to get the velocity I want in the 2650-2700 range out of my 20" barrel. This what I see with Federal GMM out of my...
