    Re: 30 .cal 168 smk or 175 I would go with 175/178's for anything over 700. The 168's tend to destabilize around 800 yards. Some people use 155's for 1000 yards. There is a lot of info on this forum, so you won't have to re-invent the wheel. Phil

    Re: improving my savage model 10 HI, Your rifle will work fine at 1000 yards. Depending on the rules(some groups require the use of 155gr bullets)will tell you what projectile you need to use. I like 175gr for 1000, but some use 155gr. You probably dont want to use 168 any further than...
