    Kollmorgen Scopes

Good Day, Here are different views of my Kollmorgen scope. It's atypical due to lack of the USMC MC-xxxx tube markings. A small number of scopes were purchased by the Army for testing purposes and not marked. Otherwise, the function is the same. Regards, Michael

Well, finally did it- AWSM 338 LM

Yes, the transit case is original. I found some of the internals but the CES is far from complete.

Well, finally did it- AWSM 338 LM

Congratulations on your new acquisition. I found mine in 2011 when stationed in the UK. I had the opportunity to run it though it's paces with Lydd Club on the southern coast of the English channel. Enjoy!

2024 Christmas gift thread (#2)! Please read instructions to participate!

This past year has been tough with friends, family, and loss. Something kind at the end of the year was really appreciated. Thank you very much. PM sent

Hey fellas, not exactly a sniper rifle but looking for some M1 Garand help if you have the experience...

Good Day LD, Thank you for the expansion on the enbloc clip you're experiencing. If understand you correctly, after the last round, the enbloc attempts to eject, but doesn't have enough momentum to clear the receiver and falls back and rests [empty] on the clip ejector spring. I posit two...

Hey fellas, not exactly a sniper rifle but looking for some M1 Garand help if you have the experience...

Good Day LD, Please provide more details to the problem - do you find loading the new mfg clips difficult? Is the parked finish heavy? is the forward gap narrower than used GI clips? Are the loaded clips easily inserted? Is the finish (parkerization) in the receiver clip well heavy (Pay...

    M1C / MC-52 scope

Good Day, It's been a long time since I've seen Hell to Eternity. Luckily, the Internet Movie Firearms Database (IMFDB) is a good source for exploring weapons that were used on the big, and small screen. The film stills in the database clearly shows the military style Kollmorgen/G&H assembly...

    L42A1 & Enforcer reloading

The Federal Palma Match loads are intriguing. However, I'd be interested to know if any shooters noticed any (even if slight) chambering issues given the Enfield rifles had a 7.62x51 chamber and the Federal cartridges are .308W

    Breda M1D Garand

Are the banner stamps on the Beretta rifles you've observed marked in a similar manner? The original Italian rifles were similarly marked but without the "E". Collectors believe the E means 'esportare' or export.

    Breda M1D Garand

Italian modified M1 rifles utilizing the type 2 method of shortening the stock, barrel, op rod, and handguard by 1/2inch, had the "CAL .30 M1" milled or ground off and "7.62-2" stamped on the flat behind the rear sight. The example in the middle was a type 1 modification that was done...

    Breda M1D Garand

Very nice looking rifle. However, your rifle is a commercial rebuild (likely NJ) utilizing Danish and Italian parts. The Danish military did use M1Ds but none were 7.62 NATO. The op rod is marked 7.62/2 which indicates it was modified as part of the Italian TIPO2, ot type 2, conversion from...

    Breda M1D Garand

Great question. The Italian military originally received M1D rifles in 7.62x63 (30.06) from US military depots like Raritan, NJ under the [Marshall] Foreign Military Sales, and/or NATO Mutual Aid programs. The rifles were "organically crated" in a similar manner as the British No4 (T) snipers...

    Breda M1D Garand

Recently the CMP announced a rules change to allow 7.62 rifles M1 rifles to be used in As-Issued Military Rifle Matches. It's still fuzzy if Italian 7.62 Garand to include the M1D's are included.
