    What's in a Username

I was young, Gundam Strike Freedom was my favorite mobile suit at the time. StrikeFreedom sounded too anti-American, anti-freedomish, so I just used Freedom + my squadron at that point in my career, 790.

    M45A1 serving on...

mag pouches on the back, at least in my unit's SOP, was for flashbangs. The guy behind you in the stack could grab a banger off your back. Real estate on the front of the vest was always a premium.

Member Link Up Southern Wyoming: Looking for shooting partner

I'm at Otto Road as well, not as much within the last year or so though. My wife and I had our first kid about a year back and it has occupied a lot of the time I used to commit to range time. I still find time every couple weeks or so during the week days in the early morning, but I couldn't...

Member Link Up Southern Wyoming: Looking for shooting partner

I came here from California back in 2005 so it was a different picture than I was accustomed to, but I wouldn't leave Wyoming now for anything. The winters can be harsh and the weather unforgivably unpredictable, but I don't feel like that is enough of a detractor from everything else Wyoming...

Member Link Up Southern Wyoming: Looking for shooting partner

Looking for a shooting partner in the Southern Wyoming area. Shoot me a PM if you would be interested in some range work. Maybe it's the social distancing and waiting to go back to work talking, but shooting by myself has got dull.

I'm using 2.8" COAL. I haven't experimented yet with seating them out further since 44.8gr at the 2.8" has shot so well.

308 with Hornady BTHPS and varget.

Here is some load testing I conducted with Varget and 178gr Hornady HPBT, going from 43-45.1gr. Loaded to mag length. I believe 43.2gr was book max, so use my results with caution.

My "first" bolt action (Rem 700 AAC-SD) pics!

I started with the same rifle several years back. It was a nice handy package and shot decent enough with hand loads.

    Another New Shooter from Wyoming

I don't post a whole lot here, but I'm at the Otto Road Range pretty frequently. Good to see other WY shooters on the board.

Larue 5.56 rifles wait times, to buy or to build...

As of a couple weeks ago when I e-mailed LT regarding wait times the response I got was 2 weeks for 5.56mm rifles and 2 months for 7.62 rifles.

    Correct truing method

When I'm truing using my ballistic software I'll tend to use distances where I'm not likely to fudge my results with the human factor, just in case I'm on an off day, bad wind, or any number of human variables that can screw a shot and cause me to waste time and ammo. My range runs in 100yd...
