    22 LR Mach Trimming

My 22lr addiction rapidly bifuctured into 40HV for AR/handgun blasting, and 40g subs for 200+/LR bolt gun shooting. As the latest/greatest 22lr ammo for long range is approaching fifty cents a round, that gives me pause. I think great gains have been made, and while the mach spliting is...

    22 LR Mach Trimming

So... warm up the ammo to literally have it shoot 'hot' and fast. With the mach thing, it seems like you can make ammo that has a low ES, but that is expensive- or maybe get ammo that is often transonic and let the mach limiter bring down your ES. Or I guess even with a low ES ammo, the mach...

    Chronograph recommendation?

LabRadar is OK, but for subsonic 22, it is suboptimal. It doesn’t like small bullets for the radar return, and it doesn’t like quiet rounds, like subs, so it is kind of a PITA to use. An inertial trigger helps, but running the action sets it off too, so that adds a step.

New Lapua Long Range and Super Long Range (Announced)

The one thing that I say in the video review was the comment that the new Lapua bullets have less wax on them. I’ve got fat fingers and have wondered if when I’m putting rounds in magazine, if I’m spreading the wax where it shouldn’t be- or that the amount left- affects chambering and the...

Where Do We Go From Here?

Wow, you guys have been busy. I haven't been as active lately because I've lost my shooting buddy to a girl- and he is learning to fly. Funny intersection. He is looking at doing commercial pilot training. I 'lose' him next fall. Howa mini actions are interesting. I picked one up in 6.5G...

    AR Dedicated.22LR and accuracy?

It's early, but is that a lefty, or do they all come that way? I thought the video was reversed, but the writing isn't? How do they get it to eject out that side? Or does it eject out the other side with the port?

    Fast Twist- where are we?

Anything lately on fast twist. This summer was crazy with travel and family stuff, only got out to the range a few times. My fast twist and tuned lilja needs to have its full potential tested

Where can I find a CZ 455 Varmint Precision Trainer?

Great choice when I got my son into it almost a decade ago, but the 457 is a better gun. I could have written ECK's post, same things. Timney trigger because my son runs his gun like a scalded ape. We just got near matching 457s, but at 17, he is now having less time and more girlfriend. So...

    CZ 457

I agree, 'pre-loading' the action with some pressure might help it bind. I got a key the right thickness and then had to dremel tool it fit- making it more half moon shape and taking a bit off the width. Seems to me that recoil lugs in metal chassis need some kind of mating technique.

PRS rimfire live fire training with TRIGGERCAM and Mantis X

Where is the radar on the front giving the MV for each shot… Just kidding.

CZ 457 lilja barrel failure to extract

Too late I guess, but I wonder what a ‘lighter’ whack of the firing pin on the case rim would do to MV? Don’t some 22lr actions use two firing pins and big ones at that to ensure consistent ignition and repeatable firing?

    Fast Twist- where are we?

I see it almost like a feedback loop. The better (faster?) the spin, the less wobble and greater the stability- which leads to less speed loss due to yaw induced drag, which leads to greater velocity retention, which leads to less wobble, which leads to…. And if drop is related to time to...

    Fast Twist- where are we?

We’ll, got my CZ457/LiljaX9/ETS tuner rifle out today for the CRC LR-22LR match. Got spanked. Didn’t have dope for past 118 yards, so the warm-up/sighting in was… spicy. 10-20winds from the back and or west didn’t help with the ambiguity when you are having to hold 4 mils at distance. I...
