Was still a 2 stage but different design than what is in the AT. Most noticeable is how it adjusts and the addition of the trigger shoe and trigger shoe bar being separate and adjustable. The AW trigger shoe was "fixed" and was part of the whole system. See below for the AW part you can see...
In my opinion....the only thing that makes the AW desirable is its history for that particular model. The AT is its superior in every way other than that with its QL barrel feature and better trigger. If there are any other differences I dont know them.
Ok. KIDD replacement showed up late yesterday and I got a chance to put it on today. Took measurements of both barrels tenons and you'll see the pic below, impressive they keep this consistency. Due to the same exact measurements I used the same amount of barrel shims and the action felt exactly...
I was shocked. I finally got some free cash and my neighbor growing up had a black cobra fox body I loved. Mild lowering with a nice full exhaust. I looked to get one and was shocked to see they are 15-25k now.
If I remember right there was a unfired AWM that sold here less than a year ago for under 10k. 12 for a AW would have been one of the highest I've seen
thats my luck also! @USMCSGT0331 The only one with a badger dbm I've seen was a guy from m40rifle.net who purchased a CMP prototype with the dbm. I modeled mine after that one but I havent see any in service pics like there are of the fluted barrel variants.
Small update. KIDD is sending a new barrel with a return rma for the one I have. Will have more on the accuracy once I get that done. I don't think I'll change anything until I try the be barrel just to be sure it's not anything else.
@Mark_Dorman I'm hoping it's just a barrel issue and it's not foreshadowing the future of its potential. @marinepi looked briefly at that hammerli but the few threads I found didn't say much for the accuracy. I liked I could just get the action of the Summit and do what I wanted from there...
The lips to hold the rounds in are in the back, the back of the case are also larger and heavier. You want the pressure to be higher in the back to be able to move all those rounds and hold them with enough pressure to sit tight on the mag lips. Also pressure to front does little.... if you...
Update 2. I took .002" of barrel shims off to tighten up the toggle lock. Tried a few more ammo types and retested a few. Similar procedure, 10 shots to get lube settled and then this time I did 2 5rd groups. CCI SV was just over 1/2" and the second group was 1". Everything else was 1" or more...
No advantage. The grip is the same one in the original pistol grip the rifle comes with stock. The only thing you change is the grip backstrap and the rear stock pieces. I (and many others it seems) like the thumbhole look better.
