Gunsmithing 1911 Colt Combat Commander upgrade suggestions

I've got a stainless Colt Combat Commander in .45 that I've had for about 13 years or so. I shoot it occasionally, but it's never been carried and pretty much a safe queen. Aside from grips, it is completely stock. I want to start carrying it and using it more so Im wanting to finally get a...

    Gunsmithing Larue 7.62 trigger

Re: Larue 7.62 trigger I honestly wasnt sure what trigger it came with, but a quick look on Larues website says it is in fact a Geiselle. Im not saying its a bad trigger. It feels solid, no creep. I would just like to lighten the pull weight so thats why I asked. If this is already a good...

    Gunsmithing Larue 7.62 trigger

Been out a couple times and shot my new Larue PredatAR 7.62 and the stock trigger leaves me wanting something better. Im pretty new to the AR platform, but wondering if I should let a smith work on the stock trigger, or if there is a really good trigger I should consider upgrading to? If an...

    Storing ammo help

Re: Storing ammo help Well I guess I'll make room in one of the closets and move it indoors. I would imagine South Houston coastal weather is about as bad as it gets for storing ammo in the garage. Thanks

    Storing ammo help

Quick question. I live in Houston, Tx where humidity is very high and temps get hot as well. Ive got all my ammo stored in the garage on a shelf and I throw a couple of those little humidity pack things up on the shelf near the ammo every now and then. Im just wondering if it is ok to keep it...

New rifle not liking soft points

Re: New rifle not liking soft points Carter's is out at the 3 locations I visit. Not having any luck finding the FGMM. I found some Hornady Match BTHP 168. Any opinions on how it compares to the FGMM? I might try that and see how it performs.

New rifle not liking soft points

First off, Im new to AR's. Not real familiar with them. So I have a new Larue PredatAR in 7.62 and went to shoot it for the first time yesterday. This is going to be used for hog hunting so I went with Hornady Custom 165 gr BTSP, as this soft point works great in my other bolt guns. I really...

Re: Nightforce 1-4x24- Deal? If you got that scope with mount for 1k, then that is a great deal. I just bought one and it should be here today. I can hardly wait. I could care less if the reticle isnt daytime visible.

Hunting & Fishing Hog bait question

Re: Hog bait question All good ideas. Ive dug holes and used the pipe. Both work. You just want to get some stink in the air and the hogs will find it. Try baiting downwind of where you think hogs may be hanging out so the scent drifts to them. I just use corn and then sprinkle some...
