    It was in an old Air & Space Quarterly magazine - it would take forever for me to find that particular article again. I do remember though that I was stunned at the short amount of time it could hover over the course of engine lifetime.

    Yeah, I've had one of the first diesel VWs in the US in 1978 - a VW Rabbit, then an 81, then an 86. Missed a few years and got a...91, I believe. Then got out of diesels altogether when they went to low sulphur fuel and the fuel pumps started ragging out and then picked up a "13 a few years...
