    Agree with you 100%. I remember a conversation I had with the same guy and according to him the caste system was a GOOD thing because it ensured societal stability. If you're a rat catcher, all of your subsequent descendants will be rat catcher - no need to ever hope for anything better...

    We just need to make India a better deal than the Russians and Chinese do. I've had experience talking to high caste materials science scientists on the issues of caste. Their house, their rules. We make a mistake by thinking it's our job to correct all the social practices we don't agree with.
