I have about 10 of the ten round 308 Pmags and about 20 of the twenty round 308 Pmags. They all perform 100% and they are the only mags I use for my DPMS LR308 and my RPR 308. I've never ever had a problem with any of them. I also have about 30 20 and and 20 30 round AR 15 Pmags. They are my...
The only bolt gun I have is a newly purchased RPR 308. I'm having a great time with it. My most fun gun, the one that puts and ear to ear grin on my face, is my Thompson 1927A1 or my Thompson M1. Both are semi-auto, no full auto allowed in Washington State. Every time i bring one to the range...
I just put a Timney in my RPR 308 and left it at the factory settings, 8oz first stage, 1lb second stage. Sweeeeeeeet setup, I've always been a single stage shooter but this Timney may just have converted me to 2 stage for target rifles.
I had a DPMS LR308 that did less than 1/2MOA with factory 168gr AMAX and FPD ammo. The best I could do at 100yds was .4" 4 shot groups. It would do that all day long or as long as my ammo lasted. After my son-in-law retired from the Army I gave it to him and he just loves it. I now have a RPR...
I bought a Vortex Viper HD 20-60 - 80 spotting scope a few weeks ago. And I got the angled version. You can unlock the rear section and turn it so you can view from the side. That's definite help shooting from a bench. I also like the angled version because I can sit and look thru it. I have...
I emailed Brownells about my 5 pack order for 308 Pmags a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the mags on 12/27/12. I got an email back saying they are now working on fulfilling orders from 12/21/12. So it looks like it will be a long wait until they get to the my order! UPDATE: Corrected the date...
The Battle Comp BABC that I had on my LR308 wasn't real bad. I have a JP Bennie Cooley on it now and that one is LOUD but very effective at recoil control and decent at muzzle control.
Take a look at the Damage Industries muzzle brake, less than $20.00 and it works pretty good. I had one on my LR 308 and it reduced recoil about 15% to 25%, at least in IMO. http://damageusa.com/product/muzzle-brake
Re: Geissele vs. Timney triggers I have two Timney 4 lb triggers. One is in my S&W Sport AR and the other one is in my LR 308. I love them both and I'm also a 1911 fan and have 4 lb triggers in all of my 1911's. I've pulled on a Wilson TTU trigger and it's as good and may be just a bit better...
Re: Magpul mags I just got an email from Quantico yesterday that they shipped my 5 back ordered 308 Pmags. I ordered them on 12/18. I still have 5 more on back order from Brownells. Maybe they will ship soon, one could always hope!! The good news is the both companies charged their normal...
Re: AR-15 mags in stock I just got 6 that I ordered on 12/27. They are extremely well built steel mags. The IDF uses them so you know they are very good. The IDF bets their lives on their equipment daily and they don't use junk. Once the BS settles a bit I will be ordering some more. The...
Re: F U Cabelas! I was at Cabelas in Lacey, WA this afternoon and they had 100-200 30 round Gen 2 Pmags without the window for $14.99 each so I picked up 3 more. I ordered 5 30 round 5.56 and 5 20 round 308 Pmags from Quantico Tactical online Sat. night and they said they had a lot of them. I...
Re: DPMS 308 Accuracy? I have a DPMS LR308 Oracle and have 360 rounds fired so far. I replaced the trigger with a 4lb Timney trigger, changed the buffer to a Enedine Hydraulic buffer, and put on a JP Bennie Cooley muzzle brake/compensator. Other than those changes it's a stock receiver and...
Re: Sub MOA.223/556 semi autos I have a stock M&P 15 Sport that shoots .65" groups at 100 yards if I do my part (which isn't often enough). The barrel is a 1 - 8 twist with 5R rifling. The other folks I've read about with the Sport have had the same results. Not bad for a $620 rifle. Here's...
