Vaporware. We saw it over in Germany at IWA (Euro Shot Show) but there are no current plans to manufacturer it according to a top product manager at Insight. Too bad- I thought it was a really nice unit with great features and one of the few thermal weapon devices that have a real weapon rated...
Think I have posted this before but this is a 2 micron image tube (vs. 6 micron tubes found in current 3rd gen tubes) from L3's R&D department. The resolution is high enough that it has to be calculated from the low frequency MTF values. This is one of only a few in commercial or military hands...
Clip-ons and PVS-14 are both great devices and both have drawbacks. If you filter it all out it comes down to money. The reason a PVS-14 is by far the most popular device is because of its flexibility. It ca do double duty as a head mount or works in conjunction with a NV compatible weapon sight...
Ident Marking has beautiful OMNI VIII PVS-14’s in stock!
HO! HO! HO!
So it’s Christmas time and you decided that because you have been good this year Santa should bring you a PVS-14 (or Mrs. Clause is tired of your whining and finally gave in)
Since its Christmas you should have...
Most likely from what you said the lens has been driven past its stop by force or impact. Its a minor repair, I would send it to MOD or us. Raytheon typically refers us for repairs as we own all the spares and service the units for all the W1000 customers- regardless of where they were bought...
The W-1000 is a mil system and has reticles for M16(A1 and A2), M4, M203, M249, M60, M24 and a M136(AT4). The Stinger reticle has been removed. The listed reticles are all the weapons that the W-1000 was tested on and rated for.
Limited parts? I see a mound of spare parts. The person you bought yours from had no way to warranty the units and that's why you paid less. He then tried to send his customers to us for warranty repair so the statement was made about our customers. You can send us your W-1000 for evaluation...
Chip,
I really don't know were to start. I'll leave the 'Tier 1' training methodology to you and your classes because I just simply use the stuff 3 or 4 nights a week, just about every week. But it seems to me that your post is attempting to counter what I wrote in my above post. I really try...
Sorry if I wan't clear- not damage to users eyes or other peoples NVG's. The .7mW pointers in general (I really shouldn't say just Crimson Trace) are powerful enough to damage (depending on the target and distance) the shooter own NVG's from back reflection of the laser. This isn't anything...
