Re: what off the shelf match 308 in a 700p We recently switched from 168 FGGM to Hornady TAP 155 and expected to give up a little accuracy for more consistent terminal ballistics. We ended up improving accuracy as well. Not an expert on anything, I'm just sayin. That was out of 22" Bartlein's.

Looking at rebuilding my old 788, it has a lot of sentimental value. Anyone know where I could find a nice wood stock for one. I dont't want to spend a whole lot, most is probably going toward the barrel, but I'd put $200 to $300 in the stock if I had to. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Re: HDMR for police sniper? I appeciate the input guys. I've been running a HDMR the last couple of months now (just a loaner) and it's a hell of a scope. Personally, I feel like it's a bit much for a LE rifle. I've been considering the Vortex PST most recently.
