    CMP M1

The 1960’s SA barrels were the most accurate barrels the government ever produced, the LMR’s used on IHC’s and some H&R’s were also great, but a distant 2nd place none the less. The 60’s barrels were used during the massive pre-storage overhauls of M1 rifles. Check the right lower receiver leg...

The Everyday Sniper Podcast Interview with Jacob Bynum

This is my #2 so far an I will listen to it at least once more. The original episode on Mil Vs Moa #8 I think is a hidden gem I place at #1, I’ve used this one to introduce people and many didn’t “get” it until they heard this. The new sound system sounds great and I’m looking forward to more...

Last I heard it was still in the planning phases.

Everyday Sniper Podcast Interview with Bryan Litz and Emil Praslick

It was a real fast listen and I thought it was great. I’d like to hear a longer episode with Bryan devoted specifically to AB software. He hit it a little bit but you could tell you guys were pressed for time.

    Question about starting/minimum load

You will have much better results in my opinion if you want that weight of bullet to use the Hornady ones near the minimum load. Those copper solid Barnes’s require a lot of pressure to get them moving in the barrel, but once they are going they move easy, and the starting loads are a little...

    Minnesota Class?

Same here. Hell of a lot closer than CO from IA and I will probably get a friend to go with and split a hotel.

Grab the tinfoil. MAC has lost it.

MAC isn’t the worst out there but sometimes damn he is stubborn. He got into a YouTube comment war the other day arguing with people that the 1903 was used more than the 1917 in WWI. He’s damn stubborn and every once in a while he says something really stupid. This is one of those times.

Gunsmithing Do you fuss over headspace?

So you’re basically making your own headspace gauge based on the actual sizing die you use? That is a very neat idea IMO

    1903 Springfield

Criterion makes excellent barrels for them that are short chambered and ready for sight installation. The 1903 is a bit more work than the 03-A3 but it can be done. The CMP custom shop can do the work, and also supply the new barrel and stock if you wish. I had them do an M1917 for me with a...

Greatest Bolt Action Battle Rifle in History...

If World War 1 would not have happened it would have been done. You have to accept that fact. The Brit’s actually got completely f/ed with the Enfield the second the French came out with smokeless and then got their lunch ate for them by the Boar Mausers in South Africa. The Enfield was...

Greatest Bolt Action Battle Rifle in History...

Enfield was already obsolete by the time Spain and South Americans and Belgians were arming up with small rings. Cock on close and 10 shots vs 5 doesn’t mean much in a combat rifle. The exposed magazine was easily damaged and the rifle lacks primary extraction leverage which IS a BIG deal when...

Trouble with RCBS hand priming tool

You should have two guides, I think one is white and one is black and they are marked on the side L or S. If you are using the correct S guide and it’s happening yes you should contact RCBS.

Rifle Scopes Anyone run a 16x for their main optic? regrets?

In a field or tactical environment you won’t give up much if any at 16x. If you get past 12—15 wobble can really dick with your head and make you do stupid stuff like jerk the trigger. 20x and above is for shooting groups from a bench or pdogs.

    So I bought my boy a K98....

Repro what? It’s a sporterized small ring Mauser, gunsmith special. They made excellent hunting rifles back in the day. Unfortunately a lot of valuable and scarce rifles like this one were stripped off almost all value in the process. This gun if in original configuration and matching...
