Making of a AR Precision Rifle

Re: Making of a AR Precision Rifle First thing, anything you get from WOP you'll be very happy with. John is a top notch guy. If you are thinking of using this AR for the new BR classification, I would talk to John @ WOP and follow his suggestion. I believe the new class is for only 100 & 200...

    ar15 dies

Re: ar15 dies I never use small base dies either. Just make sure the headspace is bump back .003 from chamber length with Redding Comp Die set. I try not to over work the brass and get more firings out of a piece of brass. Imperial lube has work well for me, to keep the headspace very...

    Which Dillon?

Re: Which Dillon? I have both the 550 @ 650. Both would be a good choices. The 550 has the advantage of loading all pistol and most rifle calipers. Where the 650 has case feed for all pistol and some rifle calipers. Powder drop will work well for pistol and Ball rifle powder, but sucks if you...

    Wolf SR Primers- Which one??

Re: Wolf SR Primers- Which one?? Theirs have been history that the Wolf Standard primers are not igniting and also the cups are too thin for semi's. I've been using both Mag Lg & SM without any problem. The only thing I must do, is to seat the primers a little hard to lower the SD. Other than...

    New Lapua 308 palma brass.

Re: New Lapua 308 palma brass. The advantage using a small primer pocket verses a large pocket is to get a light ignition causing a more consistent burn and lowering the extreme spread. Years ago, RWS lg primers were the best primers for that application, but good luck trying to get your...

    Moly

Re: Moly Another thing I like to know, is why it takes more powder to propel an object using molly then non molly? I don't have a PhD in physic, but I have dealt with high pressures to push an object, such as a concrete pump on a high rise. More powder = more gas, which = higher temperatures...

    Moly

Re: Moly Haven't tried HbN. Heard that the million of a micron are smaller than molly. I'll sit this one out until there's some soild proof that their's a clear advantage using HbN. There's no mirical bullet lubicant that will give us all that we want to hear.

    Moly

Re: Moly I've used molly and non molly. The only advantage I notice using molly is less copper foiling (no big deal). Disadvantage are; it cost more, takes more time from reloading if you're molly your own bullets, takes up to a full grain to get the same velocity that non molly would have...

    Rifle Advise

Re: Rifle Advise If you want a new upper with a flat top for a scope, then I would suggest look at Compass Lake Engineer or White Oak Precision. Both have a very good reputation for giving the biggest bang for the bucks.

    Rifle Advise

Re: Rifle Advise I suggest going with an AR platform. Ammo is cheaper than any other cartridge out there. And since you're in collage, keeping cost low for extra activities is probably a must. They're easy to do well with, as long as you know how to clean and maintain them.

    new deformed necks

Re: new deformed necks I run them through the 650, using only two stations. First station I use a Sinclare expanding die to get rid of the deform necks, second station I use a neck sizing die to uniform the neck tension. Do not like using expander balls being pull through the neck, because I...
