Looking good. I'm still in the infancy of reloading but snagged 60 rounds worth of pre-rolls from Clay's shop here in OK. Hoping to foul it in and get some magnetospeed numbers while I work out just what kind of reloading set up I want (and where the hell it's all gonna fit in our 1920s craftsman).
Chiming in as a 93R owner. Dropped mine into a Boyd's pro varmint stock (like the TRR model you mentioned) and used DPI bottom metal and some aftermarket 10 rounds mags (highly recommend both upgrades). Great little tack driver.
@reubenski in your opinion, if I'm diving straight into the GT as my first 6mm and not looking to drag race the cartridge is it still viable? I'm looking at it for the potential to get near-3000 FPS shooting 105s or 109s while potentially loading with StaBall on a progressive using the RCBS dies...
Gotcha, I was genuinely asking. I'm coming from a 6.5creedmoor shooting factory ammo and was planning to jump into the deep end with reloading and a 6mm-based cartridge this coming year. At the time I was having a hell of a time finding Dasher brass that wasn't the frowned upon Norma and was a...
Where are you finding Dasher brass that's available to buy and not to waitlist for an indeterminate amount of time? It's one thing to say, "Well yea there's factory brass" but if you can't buy it, it might as well not exist. Everybody hates the Norma option so it's available everywhere. I was...
Just some added info, I spoke with Steve at X-caliber on Cybermonday (before 6mm GT was live on the site) and it sounded like 10+ weeks. I ordered to lock in that sweet 30% discount and then called to have it tagged for 6mm GT. Steve mentioned they were still waiting on reamers and would have to...
Has anybody bothered to work up some RL16 loads with either the 105s or 112/115s? I know StaBall has everybody hot and bothered since we can meter it but I'm real fond the temp-resistance in RL16 for shooting throughout the year here in OK
Figure I'd pass on some info. Just talked to Steve at X-Caliber since they're running 30% sitewide today. If you call and get your order in, you can lock in BF/CM prices and then call them back with your order number and have them tag it for 6GT chambering. They are still waiting on reamers...
Somebody stuff this behind a 6?? and see what happens. I'm wanting to shoot a 6mm tis next year that's less needy when it comes to reloading steps. And F mag kits.
'ppreciate it! The X-Caliber guys expect GT reamers and go/no-go's sometime in December and wouldn't be surprised there was another sale. Figured I'd pass on the info.
Has anybody tracked down shops that are turning out prefits? I'd like to stash one away for my ARC nucleus after I blow out and get tired of the creedmoor. X-Cal is currently running 25% off barrels and reached out to see if they had a reamer but hadn't updated chamber offerings. Not having to...
If I'm looking at rebarreling into the 6mm world it seems the GT would be a go to. Coming off a Nucleus barreled with a Proof 6.5creed I'd be looking at a having to pick up everything from scratch. I was set on Dasher but with Hornady making more affordable brass for the GT it seems like it'd...
