I used a bag last year, but I have trouble holding a consistent 'squeeze' due to some nerve damage in my left hand. I've been thinking of trying a monopod to solve that. Do you see any slower setup time with the monopod? I imaging the quick button would get you close - just wondering if dialing...

+1 on the Midway Pro Series shooting mat. I bought mine for a course this summer and was really impressed with it (more than I thought I would be). The only complaint I had was the OD green color really soaked up the heat (Wyoming summer - + 100 degrees...everything was hotter than hell). But...
