Cold, overcast, windy conditions completely suck using thermal! The first time this happened to me I was in south texas, and I thought my 307 was messed up. Looked threw a weapon sight and I experienced the same thing. Image quality was great right after dark from a little sunshine , however...
Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff44...0D139C5B35B.jpg That is a big nasty right there nos! Loaded one up that weighed 240 covered in mud in my lifted ranger with 30 inch Mud lites on it. Was wore out after that!
Re: A night at WRR with M845 gen2 SHP and Torch Pro Our lease is a couple of hours south of Chris's place between san diego and benavides. I have to say those dam dogs are tough tough to call in. We have a huge population of them on the place, seeing several on each stand during day hunts...
Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics LOL... I guess I got ahead of myself last night when I text ya'll saying I had one down before ya'll started hunting! Looks like it was a kick ass hunt!
Re: monocular vs goggle/binocular nv I have both. A 14 and a bino rig. I have to say I never touch my 14 anymore. IMO the binos are way more comfortable, and give me less eye fatigue than a 14. 6-8 hours at a time a 14 will give me a head ache. Using binos I've yet to have one. They are also...
Re: need a lesson If I were strictly dog hunting, and already had a thermal unit for detection I would go with a d-series scope. A 740 or 760 is a great scope with a incredible image. I've laid waste to several 100 hogs and a many of yotes with mine. Also, a good illuminator is very handy...
Re: Let's see your NV gear and kill pics Looks like a good hunt htr. were you using the 95 ttsx or were you testing the 120 sst's? I got a call from the ranch owner were I usually hunt. The river has been out for awhile, and the pigs are pushed up to the top tearing up around the house. A...
Re: What would you do? Is this going to be for hunting? I have and hunt with both set ups you mention. Here are my thoughts on how the systems work out in the field. I have both a pvs-14 and a dual mum set up along with a pvs-24 and a d-760. My primary set up used to be a 14 helmet...
Re: Need recommend: PVS22 or PVS24 or other clip on Great info already posted on clip ons. I have a 24 and like it for what I use it for. It usually sits in front of a meopta k-dot or a leo 1.5x5.5 vx3. Most of the time I use it on 2.5-3x due to shooting pigs up close. It makes it much...
Re: High tech redneck "jackrabbit" NV scope adapter What kind of ambient light conditions were the pics taken at? In my neighborhood I had similar results as your pics. No moon in a river bottom it looked like shit to me. Even running a eo in front of a Pvs I get a very noticeable drop in...
