You can get new T5xi's for under 1500 at two vendors right now. I just picked up a used one, so I can't comment just yet.

No you need to get either an complete ARmalite bcg or JP HP bolt that just came out if you want to use your existing dpms carrier. Don't mix and match bolts and carriers

Got mine a couple weeks ago, it fits nice on my KAC and LMT lowers. I am in the same boat, waiting on funds to build / Scope a new upper. Till then going to be shooting my 7.62 upper.
