    Does anyone stand with Berger?

It's actually pretty cool in my book. Berger pretty consistently holds awesome weight variation and they make great bullets. I'm not arguing that at all. But I see this come up a few times a year where people dismiss a bullet because they weigh 0.4gr variation or whatever, and it's like dude...

Infinition Doppler radar head over the last 6 years of being an engineer in the bullet plant at Hornady.

    Does anyone stand with Berger?

While this is kinda fun, it's probably more true than most people will know... Typical match bullets (all brands included) show roughly 5-15% ES on net drag across the recorded Mach regime. Drag variability induced by the weight variation in this topic is on the order of 0.5% in the worst case...

What's the difference between Black Hills 5.56x45mm NATO Ammo 77 Grain Open Tip Match and Black Hills MK262 MOD 1-C?

For the .224 Aeromatch bullets we make cannelured and non-cannelured versions of 69 and 77gr. That is all. Published G1 BC's are always to be taken with a grain of salt. .355 vs .361 is within external factor variation (i.e. what barrel they're shot out of or what powder is used even).

    Ballistic Subject Matter Expert needed

So the question is basically, "Why doesn't my bullet's exit vector match the centerline of the bore?" ? Some combination of, but not limited to, the following: - In-bore tilt of the projectile - eccentric mass of the projectile - non-uniform twist of the rifling - non- uniform cross section of...

    Hypothetical: 1x fired --> annealed

I once shot a 20-shot group with a single piece of brass. Fired, annealed (AMP), FL resized, wiped off, trimmed, loaded and fired. This was in our 200yd test tunnel from the fixture. Group was pretty much indistinguishable from 20x virgin cases. The only notable difference was the first...

Bump. Got no response from either person on the Magpul PRS stock. Potentially have an agreement on the XYLO extra pieces, will update as conversation develops.

Geissele GFR Maritime Reconnaissance 6mm arc write up and review

Had good luck with the 6.5 Outfitters (Rexus now I think) and Maxim bolts. JP we broke a couple of extractors but the lugs held up fine. I smashed and peened and broke several no-name budget bolts, which during the covid shortage was the reason for all of the follow-on testing because I got a...

Geissele GFR Maritime Reconnaissance 6mm arc write up and review

Bolts interchange in standard AR-15s. Not sure about reverse compatibility with other bolts but I also don't think you'd want to do that other than in a pinch. The G bolts have been among the best I've tested for durability/longevity.

    Proof Research 22ARC barrel issues

~200-250 rounds on my 18" Proof. Might be something to it. I am not one to chase speed and tend to think the 22 ARC is about as much powder as one should put behind a .224" bullet, especially with 1:7" twist... Be curious to learn more about this.

Suppressors 338ARC AR can choice: 9mm or 338?

What do you mean by "better"? Noise levels I'd say are similar. Still burning 10-12gr of powder. It's obviously very dependent on the suppressor used but IME something like the TBAC Fly 9 on a 338 ARC is as quiet as most .30 cal (6-7" or longer) cans on a .300 blk. The Fly 9 in short mode is...

Did Hornady Change 147 ELD-M Bullet?

It's been several years, about the time of A-Tip release. We kept it quiet while the patent process went through. The only changes to the 147 I can see was the cup that was used, which affected overall length (Both OAL's in his post are from after that change, it was done relatively early in...
