Yeah, don't let people tell you what you can and can not ride with your bike. I rode down Plattekill on a hard tail 15 years ago, albeit I was the only one on a hardtail, spandex and non-full faced helmet. Probably one of the dumber things I've done, but it sure was fun!

I have a busted lower back so pushing the heavier and more rigid metal frames at speed is something I can't do anymore. Dirty over at DC is a SS guy, I think you'll like his content. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk

Carbon definitely grows on you. The first time I road a carbon bike it was comfortable but it lacked acceleration and was slow on handling. But within the last 5 years I've found that I can ride harder and faster on the new carbon bikes compared to my steel and ti bikes without feeling beat up...

How tall are you? Unless you can't swing your leg over a 29r, just say no to the 27.5 bikes. This is a post written by a good friend of mine: I'm not dead yet! - Drunkcyclist.com But I'm on the retail side of the industry and I am not impressed with any of the 27.5 bikes out there. Give it at...

    ESA/Savage Biathlon Rifle....?

I have a few of these stocks and they are a nice upgrade from the Tupperware that comes with the stock rifle. I have them for Juniors that are doing Biathlon and 3P. For 3P, we use a block to prevent use of the magazine so they have to load 1 at a time. For an all around rifle to carry in the...

The Giant Talon is a very solid bike, the new 27.5 series are nicer than their 29 counterpart. If you get a chance to compare it with the 2013 just look at the welds! But I would hold off a year before getting into the 27.5 bikes. The bikes coming out for 2015 are that much nicer and there is a...

    Any Roadies Out There

The new 2013 Sora and Tiagra STI shifters are a lot better than the older versions. Bikes with these parts usually start at around $850 and go up to $1200 for an aluminum frame and carbon fiber front fork. There are basically 2 different road bike styles, one designed for more speed and the...

It's also called cross chaining. Basically you don't want to use the big chainring in front with the big cogs in the rear (usually last 2-3). You also do not want to use the small chainring in the front to the small cogs in the rear (usually the first 2-3). If you are cross chaining in the big...

You should be able to install the brakes yourself, just take the time to read the manual. Re: the chain skipping and jumping teeth. It may be that it's not set up correctly and/or the parts are not very good. To check the see if they are set up you will need to do the following: Front...

Unfortunately that's the price you pay for $200. It's akin to asking why a Centerpoint Scope won't hold zero or why you can't see your target. The brakes on those rattle even when they are tight. To get BB5s and install them yourself it'll be around $90 new. I would return the bike to WalMart...
