Sidearms & Scatterguns Why you DON'T like Glock.

The recoil spring guide rod flange broke on my G21 in the mid-90s after less than 1000 factory rounds (MUCH less I believe). I didn't discover that break until I disassembled it to clean it, so it could have happened during firing and it kept on firing or it could have happened on the last...

    Oak Ridge still has pizza...

Kinda hard to say...I've grown up in Tennessee most of my life. Currently living in Powell, TN.

    Oak Ridge still has pizza...

Yeah, and freedom and guns with more than 10 rounds allowed, or 7 or whatever the silly regulation is there in New York.

What is the right twist rate for a .308 and why?

It depends on the size of the bullet you plan on shooting. If you plan on shooting the heavier 190+ grain .30 caliber bullets, you should probably use the 1:10 twist. A 1:11.25 twist rate is just about ideal for 168-175 grain bullets. I'm not really sure what the 1:12 is "ideal" for except...

You're right...great pizza and a local joint rather than some big chain store. Great atmosphere too.

    Swarovski or Leica?

How about the Zeiss Victory PRF? How would it compare to the Leica since the Swarovski is no longer an option?

Member Link Up East Tennessee - Knoxville

Gotta be a member of Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association (ORSA) to go to the one in Oak Ridge. It's a private range/club. Cheap though...$120/year. Know anyone with land?

Woody's Designated Marksman Match Sponsored By DPMS October 25th Series Finale

Are the shooters' packets going to be mailed out or picked up at the range? It's getting to be 1 week out and haven't received anything. It'd be nice to have info before I arrive.

    Timney Trigger

Pretty much, but if you get the wrong one, I called Timney directly and they simply said "send the one you have in and we'll send you the correct one". No shipping, no return authorization number, no nonsense. My experience with Timney customer service could NOT have been better. I didn't pay...

Not sure of all of the differences, but I originally had a 510 and needed the 510U for my custom Defiance action. For some reason, the standard 510 doesn't function in the Defiance action, so it takes a different model (510U). Don't know any more than that.
