    Sizing die

I saw a link for a sizing die specifically designed for belted magnum cases. My computer recently took a header and I had to replace it; lost the link with it. Can anyone provide me a link so I can order it. Thanks in advance.

Your Definition of a Sniper Rifle

Re: Your Definition of a Sniper Rifle I own a precision custom rifle. It is capable of better than average accuracy and long range ballistic advantages. I am not a sniper. Does my owning my rifle (which many may refer to as a 'sniper rifle') make me a sniper? Of course not. If I sold my rifle...

    Gunsmithing Bare steel?

Re: Bare steel? Very useful information, thanks guys! Is there any risk of damaging the bore from firing completely dry and free of fouling...metal on metal? Is it necessary to have something between the surface of the bore and the jacket of the bullet?

    Gunsmithing Bare steel?

Re: Bare steel? Thanks Gary. I'll do a search for the other aspects of cold bore shooting. So, there is no danger to the bore from firing metal on metal without something between the bore and the bullet, ie..carbon fouling or gun oil?

    Gunsmithing Bare steel?

Someone was telling me that instead of leaving a barrel fouled, clean out all gun oil just before shooting with isopropyl alcohol. He said the gun oil affects the first few shots until it burns away and that is what shooters call fouling shots. Does that work and is there any danger to shooting...

Couple questions about adjustable McMillan stocks

Re: Couple questions about adjustable McMillan stocks Had the same problem with my A5 I got two years ago. Easy to fix. Unscrew the thumbwheel and remove the cheekrest. Slide out the thumbwheel. Inside you'll see two screwheads. Tighten those till snug. You will likely have a problem with the...

    Gunsmithing Torquing for tight group

I recently had a pillar bed job done on my custom 300WM. I ordered stainless Rem 700 trigger guard screws (at the suggestion of my gunsmith) for a Rem 721 action. He told me to set the forward screw at 45" lbs and the rear at 30" lbs to start with. He also told me the maximum recommended torque...
