    Are you shooting 300WM or 308? Personally, that would be my only consideration although 6-48 may still be sufficient. I fail to see that by using the same rifle and scope, but installing a MARS in place of a standard rail that has a few more inches of metal, would cause a need to change screw...

    Looking at your criteria, you will at least buy two. A good 308 can and a 5.56 can. A 308 can on a 5.56 will not satisfy you and there are plenty that will.

    Has anyone mounted a clip on NV or IR on the fore end? I’ve been thinking about it, but can’t wrap my head around the height I would need with scope rings.
