Rifle Scopes Who allows you to demo scopes? Or at least has a liberal return policy?

I bought a Leupold Mark 4 that would not focus near as well as my others and they took it back no questions a few months ago.

Are there any Sharps Shooters here?

Check out C Sharps. I went to Big Timber and visited both manufacture, C Sharps and Shiloh. I was and still am more impressed with the C Sharps rifles.

    1903 springfield help/suggestions

Do some web research on the serial number of the action, very early production has questionable safety to shoot if it is in the ranges that were affected by the heat treatment process. Also pay attention if it was a springfield or rock island rifle. If the receiver is good, then you can go from...

My first. To think of the blood, mud and sweat...

Great research on your rifle. If you go the route to go back to more original parts as issued, keep in mind the Mark I stocks are of higher value because of he pedersen device cut. In other words it should help you out in trades or sales getting those other parts going back to issue. Good...

    M1D Garand (Reproduction?) Value

This actually may not be a bad deal. If you want it for a collector sniper, maybe not, but as a copy or shooter, maybe so. M1's have started going up quite a bit this past year. Service grades are not common at all in the $800 range, most lately seem to run in he upper 900's up to 1200 and some...

need help Enfield Pattern 1856 Cavalry Carbine

I bought an enfield two band, all correct stamps markings an cartouches on the stock. After i got it home i noticed it did not have the line around the edge of the lockplate that all the english enfields had. More research and it looks like i got one of the afgan repros that are coming back now...

    God I Suck.

I know it sounds like stating the obvious, but be sure and re-check all screws and mounts. I have seen one scope mount screw be loose just enough to cause inconsistencies, same with stock screws. Also seen scopes that were suppose to be very good have things wrong internally that took a lot of...

    The beginning

My earliest was remembering my Dad taking me out to our friend's ranch near Lingleville, TX. One of the friends was home on leave from VN. I was in 3rd or 4th grade so this would have been about '67 or '68 (this is approx, been a long time). He was working on a new sniper scope that was quite...

    45-70?

My C.Sharps 1874 with malcolm scope is great, wish I had a longer range close by. Will be moving back out west in a couple of years and will be able to take full advantage. Both smokeless and black powder work well with 500 gr pure lead, bp initial loads seem to work best, but it is a work in...

another 1903 a3 question or two

This may be a "bannerman special". Bannerman in NY was a surplus dealer who was in business for many years after the civi war. The used to piece together rifles and sell them cheap. There was a NRA article about one similar to your description in the past few months. Be sure you know what...
