New Year, New Rules, maybe ...

How would anyone be able to tell Berger factory ammo from a hand load of the same brass and bullets? If factory ammo is so good, why would a "factory ammo only" rule be necessary?

It was a fun one for sure!

Yep. I typically load around 2.83. I also have a 20" r700 with untouchable lands.

    New Norma "Match" Offering

The norma rep was on "the shooters mindset" podcast recently and said Norma Match was RWS Rifle Match. IMO, RWS Rifle Match isn't worth the normal $12 / box price, but for $8 / box it's decent. Glad I got my stash of RWS RM when they were blowing it out at $5 / box a year or so ago.

    CZ 457

It's normal for prone to need the butt plate moved out ~3/4" or so from a positional setting. Your head is naturally closer to the scope in prone vs positional.

    Who’s the SH Air Gunners???

I've had an Athlon Midas BTR on a 12 ft-lb HW77 (same action as the 97) for several years and at least 1K pellets. No issues. The end of the bell is covering about 1/2" of the loading port. A sun shade would be a no go.....

    How handy is a chronograph?

Yes, frequently. It even works with airguns. Just change the sensitivity to "HI2" and keep the bayonet as close to the bore as you dare.

    How handy is a chronograph?

I think it is extremely useful as well. If nothing else, knowing the velocity will add a bunch of confidence to your ammo selection and inputs into ballistic solvers. Without a chrono, you can make observations, but those observations of POA/POI at distance might not be directly velocity...

    Who’s the SH Air Gunners???

Last box of 10.5 CP's I got were awful in my Marauder. Even after doing some sorting they still shot like crap. Was a shame since previous boxes of 7.9 CP's shot great in my HW77. I've switched to JSB for all my ag's.

    .308 Winchester

Looking to load up some relatively inexpensive PRS practice ammo. Would be used for barricade type positional practice. Just 100-200 yards. Any opinions on the Barnes match burner 155's? If they suck, I'll spend the extra 10 cents for Bergers. Also, a buddy has a few pounds of H335...

    Assistance setting up a 22lr for NRL22

It's mandatory. Because you'll be spinning that turret like a top and It's really easy to end up a turn off if there's no stop.

    How heavy is it?

At the moment the CZ 457 nrl/prs rifle is right at 12 lbs. But it's getting another pound added in the near future. The CZ 452 silhouette rifle is just under the max allowed 8.5 lbs limit for "hunter" class.

I thought they were wally's too. I've got a little one from the drag racing days years ago.

    Who’s the SH Air Gunners???

Another airgunner (and marauder owner) here. I'm a 177 fan, mainly because 1.) 177 pellets are cheap. 2.) if I "need" more power, I get out a powder burner. Pyramyd Air has always been good to me over the years. Never an issue. Pellets are shipped entombed in foam blocks.

What would you consider match accuracy?

I've settled on 75-80 yards for positional practice. Far enough that position and trigger press issues show up easily, and close enough the ammo isn't a problem. "...small group bench shooting is ballistic masterbation..", LOL!
