Why did SAC make mandrell the same dimension in whole dimension? This way you cant undersize neck with bushing and expand it with this mandrell in stoke ''up''.
cratered primers and flattened are two different things. cratered primer is from large hole around firing pin - those are non-custom bolt heads. you ~wont see cratered primer from good custom bolt head. flattened primers are from higher pressure or thin primer cup. and after that there are...
not EXACTLY. or yes EXACTLY. I am saying that Laurie Holland is getting those velocities:https://www.targetshooter.co.uk/?p=3856 with 223REM and 77gr bullet. you MUST understand AND REMEMBER, that powder burn rate or velocity is VERY CARTRIDGE and maybe BULLET dependent. you cant say if you...
only N555 ~ H4350 ~ ReloadSwiss62. not N550 N550 is slightly faster than RS60 = Re17, and ReloadSwiss60 = Re17 is ~ S-065 = Shooters World ‘Long Rifle’ ~ Re16. N160 is slower than N555 for at least 1gr. N140 will probably be a little faster than Varger. N150 can be like Varget. and so is...
because you have hunting rifle, with hunting cartridge, with hunting bullet, with hunting powder, with small sample size, with bad precision. that's why your data are not worth much.
you have inferior cartridge designs and excelent ones. those who are excelent are the most popular in precision disciplines and are ''inherently'' better, and others are good only for PRS and hunting... there is THE REASON why some cartridges dominate in BR, long range etc...
in 223 you should try all useless things in other cartridges like sizing with mandrell, lubricating bullets and inside neck. i'm right now at lubricating bullets and inside necks, and I think it is better...
it's normal. in firearms, when you lube something or polish things, this will generate less friction and consequently less pressure and therefor less speed. it's just the opposite what people thinks.
''possible powder'' and ''best suitable powder'' are 2 different things. and i talked about that. if you have N550 and N555 for 140gr CreedMoor available, everybody would choose N555.
you can get single SD digits, but it is sometimes frustrating and harder to get than in all other popular cartridges. my goal is get less than 1 MOA water line at 1000m for 20 shots WITHOUTH flyers. I am maybe close, but not there jet. my Shotmarker keeps telling me, that 95% of higher and...
ledzep; why do you allways stick to your inferior cartridges designs like 6 ARC and 6.5 CreedMoor for the most precise testings? there are better cartridges and better bullets to get better velocity spread and better precision on target... ;(
