Nice one! I am going to try to not be too picky on this mule deer hunt. I’ve harvested a 182” whitetail, so I’ll probably never top that. I feel like it’s time to switch it up a little.
I am trying to get more into public land hunting out west. I will need a backpack to carry my tripod, spotting scope, bullets, etc. as well as pack out meat if we are lucky. It looks like you can spend as much or as little as you want. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I would need?

I’ve looked at paying for access, but without knowing the area and knowing how some outfitters are, it can be a crap shoot. DIY is what we would like to do, but with this being our first time up there, access may be the way to go.

I hear you. I do like the mountains and would love to hunt them. I’m just trying to pick a big unit with a lot of public land to help make sure we don’t cross onto some land we aren’t supposed to be on.
Hey, My wife and I are finally entering a drawing for a mule deer hunt in Montana. If awarded we are going to try to stay on the eastern side of the state due to the drive from Louisiana.. Does anyone have any experience with mule deer in eastern Montana? Any tips? Thank you, Justin
Ok, so I just reloaded some ammo for my 300rum using rl25 at 91.5gr with once shot remington scirocco brass. Shot one no problem. Second time I pulled this out... No beuno.. Anyone know what caused this and how can I prevent this in the future??
