My Steiner 1-4 has a bigger dent than those and is still ticking right along. Covered the end with a vortex rubber defender cap and now you can't see the dent.

SWFA 3-9 HD is another option for under $1k but minus parallax adjustment.

I got to look through one on another guy's FX air rifle and it is pretty sharp. He does a lot of dialing up for distance and had his turret taped with distance out to 200 yards. It was spot on as he tested it a few times.

I adjusted the objective side of an old bushnell hunting scope to paralax it down to the range I would use to hunt in the woods. There is a spacer ring you need to remove in order to screw the objective in further. Don't take the objective off as it will purge the gas inside. Pretty soft...
