    Both upper and lower are Aero Precision, 27" heavy profile barrel, adjustable .930 gas block. I'm planning on running 180gr ELDMs at least to start off with since that's what I'm running in my 7mm Rem mag. It will be a little while before I can get glass so can't really work up a load yet but...

    I just picked up my AR10 barrel yesterday. Chambered in 7mm Sherman Short Tactical, 27" long heavy profile, 1:8 twist. Built on an Aero Precision M5 enhanced builders set. I still have to save up for glass but will hopefully run over the chronograph next weekend at least. Time will tell on how...

    Every cartridge has a distance that would be considered ELR for that round, given its own ballistics. So you can't say that you have to shoot 1500 yards or 3500 yards to be considered ELR.

    I'm building an AR10 chambered in 7mm Sherman Short Tactical. Does anyone have any recommendations for magazines/ followers to get good feeding of a short mag? Preferably also able to allow a little bit longer COAL. Thank you

    Richard Sherman stated that the 6.5 SST has been run in an AR10 and that the 7 SST would be about the same. The Sherman cartridge appears to be slightly shorter than the 7 SAUM as far as mag length issues.

    Help with large frame AR Precision build

    Need help with choosing barrel length and diameter for an Aero Precision M5 build. This will be a long range build chambered in 7mm Sherman Short Tactical. What is the longest/ heaviest barrel you wound recommend? Shop I'm working with does up to 27 in finished length.

    BWA 10x100

    It wasn't an accelerator round. It was a 71gr jacked round nose. Still impressive speeds with that short of a barrel. A 10mmx100mm would likely have 4 or 5 times the powder capacity of a 308win and have a significantly longer barrel.

    4000fps is not that difficult to achieve if that's what you are after. Over 20 years ago I developed a load for my 308win with a 20in barrel that averaged 3980fps. This load was sub moa (10 shot group) and no pressure signs.

    AR10 platform dictates 2.800" for length. Mag bolt face cartridges would likely offer better ballistics than a .473 would. Will not purchase the BCG until chamber is decided on. Less than 6.5mm would make seeing splash difficult at distance.
