    I've been shooting IVI and just got some LC. I weighed them both and the IVI was just over 5 grains heavier. Pretty much the same.

    Got 1000 Lake City 7.62 brass to neck to 7-08 and made sure they were clean. Annealed the necks and put them through my rcbs FL die. These are for a Savage bolt and when I tried them the bolt closed rather hard so I adjusted the die to where the bolt closed easily. Started load development(162...

    DPMS "Classic" 18" BBL IVI(Canadian Mil cases, like LC only softer) 43.0 Gr of Varget gives me right at 2600 fps and 5/8 inch groups(40.9 was 3/8", but the speed was not there) CCI #34 primers 2.80 COL

    I would think that Krieger head-spaces with the certainty that 99.9% of their customers will be loading to mag length.

    Is my problem a bad lot of primers or light firing pin strikes???

    Might check some unfired ones and make sure the primers are seated correctly. If they are a bit high, might take one or two attempts to fire before they seat fully and actually fire.

    Between me and my buddy's 5.56 an inch is pretty good. Trick is getting it consistently.

    I voted 168 because there are great 168 grain loads that your rifle will likely love. That said, I only shoot 178 Amax's.
