Does anyone recall actual height of the silhouette target at right side of unknown distance stage? I measured it at exactly 2 mils and was thinking it was 1 meter tall which would put it at 500 meters, I missed both shots. I didn't mil measure the length of short target bar. Perhaps the...
I did math on the unseen for a 2nd shot hit. 1 mil at 100yds = 3.6", 1 mil at 618yds = 3.6" x 6.18 = 22.248". Unseen target 57" low, 57" / 22.248" = take 2.56 mils off your dope. 59" / 22.248" = 2.65 mils I thought they said 57", close enough, ha! MF Sent from my iPhone using...
I have a heavy profile 358 cal Krieger blank that I was going to use for a bolt rifle build. I've been happy with a factory 375 bolt rifle so this blank has been collecting dust. I'm considering having it contoured, chambered in 358 Winchester, extension fitted, headspaced to my Armalite 308...
That won't work unless Forster modifies it. The inner diameter of die for fired case neck to fit through leading up to bushing won't allow your 308 neck to pass. I had them modify a 6.5-284 to fit a straight 284 Winchester. Unmodified it wouldn't allow my case neck to pass and it's a fairly...
I'm using 54.2gr H-4831sc under Berger 180gr VLDs; getting approx 2730 fps through a 28" Bartlein w/ necked up Lapua brass. I've fired up to 55.5gr H-4831sc and primers were just starting to flatten a bit, still easy extraction. I'm planning to fire a 100yd OCW test with charges at 54.2...
I was going to buy Sinclair brand comparator but they were out of stock at time in my size so I went with Davidson setup. Later I bought a pair of the Sinclair comparators and holders to use for measuring bullet bearing length per Tresmon. The Sinclair had burrs at entrance and I had to sand...
I grew frustrated with the Hornady tool as well; too much movement and unwieldy when combined with Sinclair "nut" to get consistent ogive measurements I went to the Tresmon setup but used a piece of brass rod and rod stops from McMaster Carr. Also using the Davidson from Sinclair...
I've attached a 100 yard mil scale target I made. Each small square is 0.2 mils, 0.72" and each large square with target is 1 mil, 3.6". It prints on 8.5x14" paper. I thought you all might find this useful. I'm going to use it for OCW at 100 yards and to crank my scope around to make sure it...
Re: Proper Bullet for .338 Lapua Jaeger308: In the 338 XLR test thread Retumbo was reported to be an excellent powder choice for the 285gr Hornady. Were you also using Retumbo? I'm in process of having a single shot 338LM built and am close to shipping off the parts. I'm planning to just...
Re: Proper Bullet for .338 Lapua In case you missed the 338 XLR bullet test thread; lots of great info. and interesting reading here: http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3235869
I have a custom action and a 700 style trigger to go with it. However the width of the action is not compatible with the safety lever, they collide before the trigger seats down where it needs to be for trigger attachment pins to go through. Is it more common for shooters to go with a bottom...

Re: What reloading accessories make life easier You have the Dillon primer pocket swager, I assume you're planning to use some fired mil brass. If you need to deprime crimped pocket cases, pickup the inexpensive Lee decap die with a couple extra pins. I've had good luck with Dillon case...
