My second 6.5 saum Got this today T3 action 24" bartlein no 3 fluted Bedded into mcmillan hunter stock, edge tech Dan hardy gen 4 suppressor .298 reamer Atlasworx tac bolt handle Sako optilock low rings Leupold vx6 3-18x44 illuminated Boone and crocket
Waiting for this to come back from smith now. Originally a t3 270 wsm. Bartlein no 3 fluted at 24 mcmillan sako hunter stock in edge tech. Being built by forum member tui_man
I get primers at look like that also with mild loads. My stick is built on a Remington and I was told that a lot of 700s do this. Also using krieger 8.5 @ 24"
Very nice tikka. Yesterday I sent a 270 wsm t3 off with a mcmillan sako hunter carbon fibre stock off to get rebarreled with a bartlein no 3 fluted and suppressed
For what it's worth I chose the no turn 298 reamer and had nothing but trouble accuracy wise and problems with pressure as well as very inconsistent velocities. Turned necks and all problems went away.
So looks like I'm building another one on a t3 action mcmillan carbon fibre sako hunter stock. How much velocity increase is expected with 130s and 140s from a 26" vs 24"
Wow what a difference turning made! Turned necks to fifteen thou seated 130 vld 10 thou from lands with 63g h1000. Shot three three shot groups two in the .6 range and one just over .5. Consistent velocity averaging 3180 fps. Got a perfect 100 yard zero and ran it out on the five hundred plate...
I don't believe it is the chrono as it seems right in line and consistent when we shoot several other rifles over it. I think you could be right about the neck thickness as I am not turning my brass at this stage - running the 298 reamer, but some loaded rounds come slightly on the wrong side of...
I'm still trying to get my head around the problems I am have with erratic velocities and pressure. For example 140 amax and 61gr h1000 with a fed 215s velocities varied between 2980 and 3135 over five shots.I am thinking it comes down to neck tension, when I take a fired case I cannot fit a...
