    CZ 455 Scope Base/Rail Recommendations

I've got a CZ 455 (22lr) that has the 11mm dovetail scope rail. Since I've had it I have had a scope on it with 11mm rings but recently bough another scope and want to put it on it. I can't use the same rings since the current scope is a 1" tube but...

Rifle Scopes Who wants to recommend me a scope? (sub $1k, med range, 6.5 Creedmoor)

I'm basically in the same position ... realistically going to be sitting at a bench shooting 100 yards 99% of the time. I don't even have the long range gun yet ... looking for the killer deal used and in no rush. What I have decided to do was use my RRA and I can easily play up to 600 yards...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-3 turret change to M1 or Screw On Dials

Update: So, I decided to go with the M1 turrets for both elevation and windage turrets and a zero stop shim kit. Turn around time is unbelievable ... assuming they actually did the work ... 6/25/19 - shipped scope to Leupold via UPS slow boat 7/3/19 - email from Leupold that they received...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-3 turret change to M1 or Screw On Dials

Thanks @10ring1 and @trob_205 - good to hear good and happy experiences. Wish I had done it a few years ago too. A few years from now I’ll be able to say ... “I remember when it only cost $225 for 2 M1 turrets!” :)

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-3 turret change to M1 or Screw On Dials

Update ... decided that I'm going to go with the M1 turrets, got packing materials all ready to go, called the Leupold Custom Shop today and wouldn't you know it - they are closed today for "process and product training". I'm going to have to wait until Monday to get the process moving along...

Rifle Scopes CZ 455 Scope Base/Rail Recommendations

@Dustysa4 - you bring up a great point and I was actually thinking about this yesterday. I was about to pull the trigger on the 15 MOA Area 419 base and then thought ... what if I'm already low when centered ...as you say a 30 MOA base might be the optimal choice. My dilemma is complicated...

Rifle Scopes CZ 455 Scope Base/Rail Recommendations

Thanks @padom - good info. I recently bought an Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27 and I can see that scope possibly making its way to the CZ for some longer / variable range fun.

Rifle Scopes CZ 455 Scope Base/Rail Recommendations

I don't have a 453 but from what I've heard and read the 453 American is a 3/8" dovetail (the american dovetail size) but the 453 Varmint is 11mm (the european dovetail size) for .22 lr .... but wait .... for .22 WMR or .17 cal is looks like it's 3/8". Check your owners manual or do a google...

Rifle Scopes CZ 455 Scope Base/Rail Recommendations

Much thanks @carbonbased - yet another entry into the higher end of the spectrum. I'm surprised I didn't come across this in my previous searches. Height is definitely a consideration. Murphy Precision lists the height as .450" but don't say if that's extra above the rail or from the base to...

Thanks @Cotay - I never heard of Triggers By Scar and did not stumble across him in my searching. Good info to have and consider .

Rifle Scopes CZ 455 Scope Base/Rail Recommendations

I saw the Area 419 and was initially very interested but I only saw a 30 MOA version. But wait ... I just went back and looked again and I see they also offer it in a 15 MOA cant. One of the things I use my CZ 455 for is 50 yard (casual) benchrest shooting. The scope that is primarily mounted...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-3 turret change to M1 or Screw On Dials

@spife7980 - wow ... thanks for taking the time to post that description of the screw on dials! You should sell it to Leupold - by far and away the best and most informative information I've seen about them .... and I always thought I was pretty good at getting Google to give up the goods :)...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-3 turret change to M1 or Screw On Dials

That was what I had thought about and decided that I didn't see myself going back and kind of see the M1 as a permanent solution vs. a temporary solution. Additionally there are other advantages to the M1 turrets such as the graduation lines to let me know where I am relative to full...

CZ455 Ammo - what shoots best for you

CZ 455 Varmint Knowing that every 22 is different ... with my CZ 455 ... - Eley Match (black box) has been my best / goto when I care and never disappoints - Recently shot some Lapua Center X and it was as good as the Eley. Only shot one box but was good enough that I've got some more to try...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-3 turret change to M1 or Screw On Dials

I've have a Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40 scope with the capped target turrets and I've decided to change them out. I spoke to the Leupold Custom Shop and basically have 3 options - M1 turrets, screw on dials, or CDS (Custom Dial System). M1 turrets or CDS cost is $155 for 1 and $225 for 2. Screw...
