I've got a CZ 455 (22lr) that has the 11mm dovetail scope rail. Since I've had it I have had a scope on it with 11mm rings but recently bough another scope and want to put it on it. I can't use the same rings since the current scope is a 1" tube but...

I'm basically in the same position ... realistically going to be sitting at a bench shooting 100 yards 99% of the time. I don't even have the long range gun yet ... looking for the killer deal used and in no rush. What I have decided to do was use my RRA and I can easily play up to 600 yards...

Update: So, I decided to go with the M1 turrets for both elevation and windage turrets and a zero stop shim kit. Turn around time is unbelievable ... assuming they actually did the work ... 6/25/19 - shipped scope to Leupold via UPS slow boat 7/3/19 - email from Leupold that they received...

Thanks @10ring1 and @trob_205 - good to hear good and happy experiences. Wish I had done it a few years ago too. A few years from now I’ll be able to say ... “I remember when it only cost $225 for 2 M1 turrets!” :)

Update ... decided that I'm going to go with the M1 turrets, got packing materials all ready to go, called the Leupold Custom Shop today and wouldn't you know it - they are closed today for "process and product training". I'm going to have to wait until Monday to get the process moving along...

@Dustysa4 - you bring up a great point and I was actually thinking about this yesterday. I was about to pull the trigger on the 15 MOA Area 419 base and then thought ... what if I'm already low when centered ...as you say a 30 MOA base might be the optimal choice. My dilemma is complicated...

Thanks @padom - good info. I recently bought an Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27 and I can see that scope possibly making its way to the CZ for some longer / variable range fun.

I don't have a 453 but from what I've heard and read the 453 American is a 3/8" dovetail (the american dovetail size) but the 453 Varmint is 11mm (the european dovetail size) for .22 lr .... but wait .... for .22 WMR or .17 cal is looks like it's 3/8". Check your owners manual or do a google...
