    It will take it off and take it off quick! You will get good adhesion with the new coating but it may have a rougher surface finish b/c of the 70 grit.

    I use 150 grit to do the dirty work and then 220 and even 320 to make it smooth and shiny. Don't think the 220 or 320 is necessary but it makes me feel warm and fuzzy when the lug seats are shiny!

    Manson makes an ..010" oversize tap for the R700 that squares the threads to the bolt raceways. Works good buy quite pricey. Remember if you go .010" over size your recoil lug (if it's separate) will be too small so you have to enlarge that too.

    The slower the twist (12 twist) will have a higher velocity than a slower 10 twist. Very, very, minimal though. I think we've tested this on a chronograph and between the two it was less than 50fps. Ideally you want to run the slowest twist you can get away with.

    Good stuff! I work at Rock Creek barrels and it's spot on! Hand final lapping does the break in for you! I've lapped a handful of factory barrels and groups sometimes are cut in half. When you lap a barrel you are basically getting the "scratches" ,if you will ,parallel to the rifling. This...
