I have 2 factory LTR stocks that feel different,

............did Remington change suppliers sometime during the production? Both have aluminum bedding blocks and look very similar but the pistol grip and wrist are definitely slightly different. The later one is slimmer.

Anyone use these cheek risers on rifles?

I need to raise my comb about 3/8", this looked like a tidy way to do it. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=15487/Product/SCOPE-EZE

    LE Rem 700 .308 LTR

Re: LE Rem 700 .308 LTR I think allot of precision shooters have been down the road of buying a Remmy 700 then adding a heavy complicated stock, long heavy barrel, huge optics etc. and ended up miles away from where they started or where they needed to be to accomplish the task. If you start...

Re: Best way to eliminate suppressor mirage? Thanks all. I found some exhaust header wrap in the garage yesterday, has anyone tried using this? It seemed to me if barrel-change oven-mit worked then this might.

Rifle Scopes To those of you that switched from MOA to MIL

Re: To those of you that switched from MOA to MIL I suggest it depends how you've been trained and your life experience. When I was about 13 yrs old at high school we nationally switched from imperial to metric. Those who went before were OK with inches, those who came after think in...

    Gunsmithing Securing Remington bolt handles?

Re: Securing Remington bolt handles? Thanks for the input all. I have had one Remmy bolt handle break off with no abnormal use. It was a new SPS and I've subsequently read that a few leave the factory with bad solder joints. That prompted me to have all the 700s I owned at the time tig...

Rifle Scopes Leupold VX-R reticle for 70% hunting/30% target?

Re: Leupold VX-R reticle for 70% hunting/30% target? I have not looked through one of these but I would caution against a reticle that may be too 'heavy' for precision work. That is based only on SWFA's website representations of the reticles.
