The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

All valid when discussing lots of cases… All I can say is that same barreled action/scope combo in a foundation didn’t shift…neither do any of my others rifles I could shoot build and break drills with my eyes closed left or right handed and not see shifts like that, in this instance shooter...

The "a chassis should not need to be bedded" myth........

https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/foundation-stocks-people-are-bedding.6931680/post-7846355 its pretty easy to tell if its tied to performance/reliability hit tf out of the barrel on something and shoot it my sample of one MPA would shift all over none of my foundations exhibited...

    Hornady on tuners.

assuming this is key...this could explain why i never saw anything from the tuners i tried on my rifles i dont ever see that much movement from my rifles @ 100 yds...i never tested 6 grains of spread in my smaller short action cartridges in the past, but 2.5-4gr was common, and in the larger...

    Hornady on tuners.

ive shot quite a few load comparison tests over the years round robin (Load1,L2,L3,L1,L2,L3,etc) and in batches (Load1-3x, L2-3x, L3-3x, etc) to get three-5 and 10+ shot groups of each load...and how the groups formed was always interesting wasnt uncommon for one of the loads to shoot the first...

    Does BC really matter?

its not exactly them exaggerating, they just only list the highest BC for the highest mach value on the box...that BC would only apply for the first couple 100 yds of flight or so the 140 eld's full listed BC values provided by Hornady are .326/.320/.310 for the 3 mach values they test for...

    Hornady on tuners.

velocity will show at distance, but close range its not much of a factor at all...ive shot a lot tiny groups @ 100 with varied powder charges that had huge ES/SD in velocity...

    Hornady on tuners.

what is "considerably" if you had to put a number on it...like avg group size before vs the improved im really asking, because if i found a tuner improved what i have without a tuner considerably, id be in winning benchrest rifle territory with a bipod and rear bag (which i dont really believe...

    Hornady on tuners.

i wasted it for a few years... figured some things out..quit wasting it then went back and wasted it again for a year just to double check...then wasted some other peoples just to triple check lol

    Hornady on tuners.

this was one of the main things that drove me to simplify my process more and more over the years there were things i measured the best i could and found differences i absolutely would have bet mattered...and would have been obvious then i shot them and saw nothing worth noting

    Hornady on tuners.

and that was around the time i pulled the couple of tuners i had been playing with off and quit looking for something to show

    Hornady on tuners.

ive seen a lot of mike's posts and i think shared one here in an old tuner thread... i dont remember the exact wording, but it read like if you arent shooting a rifle capable of BR level precision, over flags, and making perfect shots/calls you were pretty much wasting your time. which, when...

    WTF am I doing wrong.

Assuming everything else is squared away in the reloading room… Something to keep in mind is Barrels will typically gain speed as bore conditions change with rounds fired If the barrel is brand new, it’ll speed up, then settle somewhere in the first 100-300 rounds (usually) Then as it fouls...

AMP really worth the extra $$$$$$

No, again… I’m doing it for sizing consistency…i dont think I mentioned longevity at all? Don’t particularly care. I already said in the post you originally quoted I didn’t see any obvious difference in accuracy…it was more than acceptable before and remained so after. I won’t say it can’t...

AMP really worth the extra $$$$$$

I know what it does in my process Did I say somewhere accuracy was all that mattered to me?
