    Rifle Scopes How far below (or at) do you set your zero stop.

    Zero and know your shorter distance hold unders. But if you shoot same rifle in different locations (altitude) then it differs. As with many things, it’s personal preference.

    If your groups haven’t opened up, you’re GTG. Just check for fouling and maybe clean the darn pipe.

    It’s just math. So yes a 200yd zero is fine. What I zero my rifles at is typically mission specific. I rarely get to take a shot at elk below 300yds. Therefore that 300wm rifle is zeroed at 300.     I usually don’t worry about spin drift when hunting till I’m at 300+yds. But, Spin drift effect is different for every different round and barrel twist. You gotta know your round and rifle before shooting long range at any animal.

    When you get to a range with distance, remember to factor in spin drift as well. Some forget and think it’s wind deflection.
