Just ordered a Ruger American Predator!

Its nice to see my Ruger wasn't a lucky fluke, good shootin hahco. I see myself picking up a predator soon in 6.5 creedmoor. Since I handload ammo will be plentyfull. Using my .308 american this weekend at my first comp.

OAL - Does this seem right?

When you measure with the OAL gauge, there is no way a .308 should be 3" long much less more.....the reason your bullet stuck when you unchamberd the round is a sure sign it is way too long and the bullet was barely seated into the case. Plus installing the comparator onto your calipers, closing...

I bet he used a dremil tool or something and just cut away the inside of the foregrip more

Rookie shooter needs advice on purchase

Remington 700 XCR is only around $700 new. Many good rifles much less 700s in that range. I prefer a longer barrel than a 20" but either way. Several 700 variants way less than that brand new

Just ordered a Ruger American Predator!

Mathews Cheek piece was about $35 on Amazon, install was easy, Lined it up where I wanted it, marked it, the drilled holes with 1/4 bit. The stock is hollow aside from some styrofoam type material so It was easier to just drill 2 holes on one side then I flipped it over and drilled the other 2...

Just ordered a Ruger American Predator!

As far as I know you will not be able to buy any aftermarket stock or triggers for any Ruger american. My rifle right now is an american and it is its own unique design. I did however paint it, added a muzzlebreak and an adjustable cheek piece from Mathews wood works. Its a shooter for sure...

Educate me on 'categories' of ammo..

Derrick- I own a semi-auto so I've always shy'ed away from sub-sonic. Perhaps I will give them a try. Not that its funny but Fed. Auto match is the one ammo my semi auto rifle doesn't like(fte-and major feeding issues)

Educate me on 'categories' of ammo..

I have read the comments and I would only add as my 2 cents worth that CCI mini mag works very well for me with no stray fliers. Also, I don't see any body mention bullet weight. I have more consistency using 40 gr vs. 36 gr. in general, especially out to 100yds. I do not claim to shoot single...

As I matter of fact, I ran this test and I think your question is a good one. I too had the same question. The group I mentioned that was Nickel size was after shooting 15-20 shots. Also I have shot it at steel gongs from 140 to 640yds(the steel is 40 yds past the target pit at the range) As far...

more pics tried to upload more pics including this group covered by a quarter including the splatter, and another one covered by a nickel. I guess my pics are too big and exceed file size allowed. I know that's kind of anti-climatic but I swear, I have photographic evidence of a 3/4 in. group...
