Re: Viper PST setup with 20 moa rail setup questions I think your logic is right. I'm using the same scope, PST 4-16 FFP on a Larue 20 moa base with cheapy Blackhawk tactical low rings. Rifle is a remmy 700 in 308. Height above bore is a pube hair under 2". With a 100 yard zero, I have 15.2...
Re: Large padded shooting mat?? $85 for a mat seems, uh... a bit high. I use a padded bed roll I got from the camping section at Walmart. Cost about $10. It's not 36" wide (I think it's about 24") but it works just fine. Lightweight and handy because you can roll it up. And the padding...
Re: Kestrel 4500, yellow. best place to buy? This won't necessarily be supporting the online gun stuff dealers, but I've seen very competitive prices on Ebay and Amazon. I got my 4500 NV on Ebay, NIB, for a shade over $200. Deals are there if you keep an eye out.
Re: Gasbuster charging handle?? I have a gas buster for my suppressed M16. It wasn't cheap and quite frankly, I think it was a waste of money. Others may swear by them, but I haven't noticed much if any advantage. I don't notice any excessive gas back in my face, and that's with 14.5" and...
Re: Shepard Scopes Seems like a hunting scope only, not for precision work. The holdover circles for 300 yards and beyond don't have crosshairs. Just an aiming circle that you center on the target for an area hit.
Re: Anyone familiar with Front Sight Nevada? Hmmm. TheWolfe makes his first 2 posts on this forum in this thread, deriding Front Sight, and gets caught in a contradiction. Then his posts magically disappear. I smell a rat.
Re: US Optics 30mm vs 34/35mm tubes I called Becky at USO and asked that same question. (Must have been a year or so ago.). The answer was yes - the 35mm tube gave more elevation adjustment. I think it was on the order of 10 MOA. I didn't ask about the 34mm tube but I suspect it would be similar.

Re: Do any of you have this problem? I have the same problem. I got LASIK and opted for mono-vision. My right eye (dominant) is set for distance, the left for reading. Sounds weird and doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me. If you look at something close up like turrets, your brain...
Re: Mounting a scope If you don't have a set of automotive feeler gauges, any disadvantages with using a deck of playing cards? I've seen others mention this and it seems like a viable option for a cheap bastage like me. Just wondering if there's a reason this wouldn't work just as well as...
Re: Vortex Riflescope Inventory Update: 12/24/2011 Scored on a PST 4-16 at holiday pricing! I called Cameraland at this late hour fully expecting to get an answering machine. But no, Doug and company were still working! Don't they know it's Christmas eve? Thanks Doug for awesome price and...
Re: vortex viper pst ffp 4-16 vs 6-24 I prefer the 4-16 (have one on order with Liberty Optics). I like the more compact size (1.8 inches shorter) and more elevation adjustment. When shooting at 1000 yards, I typically use 10 or 12 power, so the 4-16 is plenty magnification.
Re: Condor Gear. I have a Condor sniper drag bag. It's seen moderate use for the last 2-3 years, stuffed with a Rem 700 and assorted support gear. No problems. It's held up fine. I think I got it for about $60 at a fun show. I would recommend one if you don't want to spring for a more...
Re: Which Chronograph I've got a ProChrono. It does a nice job and won't break the bank. If you're patient and look around, you might be able to find them on sale in the $100 range. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/852429/competition-electronics-prochrono-digital-chronograph
