    I will say that a Swaro with the forehead rest is great to use. Head rest makes for a quick index for the eyes to get the eyes settled in correctly in the barrels immediately.

    I finally broke open the box of the replacement Calypso last week and it connected once and is bricked again (will not connect) just like the first one. I have yet to reach out but at this point, I'm about to chalk this up as a $300 loss.

    For NRL Hunter, I make it a habit to unclip the binos when I come off the glass to go shoot, and in some cases, I will put the tripod on its side with the binos still clipped in so it can't fall over.

    I'm no expert on optics, but I'm guessing the threaded portion is part of the tube, and tube was damaged, that's why it can't be repaired. I'm not sure how this would work for a scope, like if you were to dent the objective bell and deform it, would they be able to bend it all back and fix it...

    I empathize with your predicament, but I think it's unfair to say the warranty is bad. It's a fair expectation that a warranty would cover defects from the factory and some parts failures from normal user and at the minimum every company will do this. Then we have a company like Vortex Optics...

    I didn't realize you also experienced the same issue where it would never re-connect. I also got my replacement just a couple weeks ago but I haven't bothered opening the box. It took forever and I had to reping them for updates every month.
