Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
I worked with the numbers some to see whether there were any significant gaps in the serial numbers that would indicate missing data. I developed a scatter chart and a column chart using @capthook spreadsheet. They didn't show any significant gaps. Going through the 1xxx numbers, I found two...
Chandler, Death from Afar, Volume 1 list the serial numbers and dates of purchase for scopes from 1006 up through 1651. It also lists 1652 through 1673 as "test scopes". In the higher serial numbers shown, the dates of purchase bounce around between 1983 and 1988. Based on the higher serial...
Your observations on the serial ranges are the same as mine. I haven't seen or heard of any serial numbers higher than 1913 in the .30 Cal. scopes and 5150 in those originally made as .50 Cal. scopes.
Excellent work, thank you for compiling the list! I had started planning a format but hadn't done it yet.. The only format differences I had planned were columns for ".50 cal. conversion" and "date of auction" (so I could sort by those). I didn't have the number of bids and CMP user #. I'll...
Yes, I used that search function to save the numbers into a word file. One caution is that there are a few auctions where they failed to put Unertl in the title, so if you search by Telescope, you get a more complete list (but have to cull out the M84's etc.). Also, there are some where they did...
Negative, that is just the username I adopted on the CMP forum in 2009. They had changed the forum software and I couldn't reuse the username I had used for the prior 10 years. I have asked about a list of Unertl serial numbers a couple times but haven't had any success. I have just been...
The CMP sold two of the USO 3xxx series scopes. The other was 3123. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipN2BPal9xyrFzIbV0iu-r6GgBwYUwTk7UzAX3E19LCCSZ_3nSbc6wQ6NCp4RzcTWA?key=bDVTb085b0pDWmx3b2V0ZEdUaDRrdUZHbFliYnZB Those two scopes, plus USO 3449 that has been posted here before, are the only...
In selecting rings, just be aware that the BPT mounts used Weaver mount specs rather than Picatinny. The Badger mounts I tried to use on one Weaver base would not fit. Some narrower Picatinny rings might work in either, but it's best to check before you buy.
This sounds like the same mount, Leatherwood/Hi-Lux Tactical 3D Mount. SWFA used to sell: http://www.opticstalk.com/leatherwood-tactical-3d-mount_topic12647.html
I was able to notify the buyer of a totally faked 03A4 sniper a few years ago but had to do it indirectly. I searched using his gunbroker username and found the same username on a couple firearms forums. I'm not finding any fordf1501995 except on an instagram account in Mexico... I have no idea...
I posted on the other thread that I had dealt with TMA on two rifles back in 2015 and 2016. The M40A1 that I bought has a repro mount that looks like the one in the pictures of auction for the complete rifle posted above, auction 1015561811. I have some pictures of that repro mount that I...
That is the thing with these FOIA's. It's very unlikely that this M24 sat in storage at Fort Campbell from 2012-2016 when issued to the 5th SFG. The same is true of its earlier locations.
