I say have enough magazines put away that you can pass down to your children. A magazine ban is very possible within the next decade, and it would suck pass down $5000 worth of semi auto rifles that your children can't get magazines for.

Why do you want to carry it in a Pelican case? There are a lot of cases you could use to carry 100 rounds. Do you want to carry it as loose ammo? In boxes?

I am looking to build a .300 win mag Model 700 starting from just an action. I understand that the Model 700 action has 3 sizes, small, medium and long. There is a pawn shop that has a Model 700 in 30-06 that I could pick up for cheap. Would this action work for building a .300 Win mag?
