    6.5cm Bullet question

Presumption is you've determined nodes for your optimal charge weights? My experience is there is credence to some rifles not liking specific bullet profiles. I've had bullets that would not group or shoot in my rifles, change the powder and then I'm humming sub-moa. For example, could not...

    Time for a new press

In response to your original post, I would not "upgrade." Instead I would get another press, and this case it would be a Co-Ax. However, the thread has taken a turn towards accuracy, and in this it's still hypothetical. Rock Chucker and Forster dies, plus hand priming and a plethora of...

Inexpensive Bullet For 30-06 Deer and Elk hunting?

ROFL -- you must live where you get multiple tags per season. Out here in Oregon, it's 1 deer limit. The cost of the bullets is nothing compared to the cost of the license, tag, gas, beer and camping sundries. I try to be frugal with the cost of my bullets, not because I'm a cheap MF'er...

Inexpensive Bullet For 30-06 Deer and Elk hunting?

The only Barnes I have found to be overly expensive are the TTSX copper projectiles.

    338 Lapua Improved?????

Because they work, as well as Berger OTMs or Scenars, or even farking Hornady SP's. At 100+ grains, I'd look at using WC870 or such. At 2900 fps or higher and no pressure problems, I'm interested. Kinda reminds me of the Weatherby 378-338 w/o the belt.

    Comp seating die worth $$???

If you have the spare cash, buy it and be done with it. More convenient, definitely. More accurate? Not really, if you know what you're doing. It will be your technique that makes all the difference.

Inexpensive Bullet For 30-06 Deer and Elk hunting?

WellDone - I've got some 200gr Sierra Game Kings that I use for my 308 that you can try. No idea how they stand up against Muleys or Elk - mine have only hit paper up to 300 yards, and air tanks at 500. 1/2" aluminum wall, it enters just fine. Need a dead on shot for an exit hole...

Trying to get my head around O-Give

Preface: This is a sniper's forum so in theory, the people visiting and contributing are better than your average shooters. I've never competed, so don't know but figure I'd have my ass handed to me. That said: If you think making your bullets uniform will increase your accuracy, more power to...

    Small Reloading: A Beginning undertaken by a beginner . . .

I would caution you -- the Lee Loader only neck sizes your cases. For all the 1X fired brass that you did not fire through your gun, make sure they will chamber in your gun before you try to reload them. For the ones that don't, you will need to FL resize them.

    Small Reloading: A Beginning undertaken by a beginner . . .

Good write up but see comments below. While it is apparent my comments are too late, I would point out you didn't practice Quick Tips item 4. I have lived in a 750sf apartment with 4 kids while all my stuff was neatly tucked away (bullet parts in with the shoes, progressive press next to the...

WHATS THE DIFF???? CCI BR2 Vs. CCI #200 large rifle primers.

+2 to the beer money. Unfortunately one bottle of my favorite beer is more than a 100 pack of BR2. (Ninkasi Tricerahops in 22oz) The difference is like having gold trim on your car vs. the standard chrome or painted. If it makes you feel better buying the BR2, get them.

Tikka T3 .300 WSM Ballistic Tip Hunting Load

I don't know about WA, but drawing and bagging a ram is a once in a lifetime deal in OR. Nice! [edit] now that I've actually read your post rather than just look at the pictures (I still write with crayons), how can a picture of an exit wound in a ram be offensive on a sniper board? Seems to...

    Pistol primer question

I've used small pistol in 223 rounds. Never had a problem with either fail to fire or pierced metal.
